High quality build and tech design. Installation is straight forward thanks to the excellent, detailed instruction manual*. Nonetheless, pre-planning mounting location, materials, electrical service outlet if not already available, is strongly advised. To really maximize energy efficiency, the On Demand BLE Bluetooth button accessory is recommended vs the auto cycle which I found to be cycling every 10mins vs. 28mins as defined by the temperature setting. It was to the point that even the cold water taps were warm, so a lot of wasted energy. Instead, we bought the BLE button accessory ($32) to activate the water recirculation 5 min cycle while getting ready to shower; we turn on shower and with 15 seconds, hot water is flowing saving lots of water and energy!! We are thrilled by knowing we will be saving tons of water and energy year over year. * My only critique is the installation manual is limited in explaining some of the non-critical setup parameter features when configuring the unit for initial operation and does not make clear what you need to set up the Bluetooth on demand operation. I had to call their tech support to figure out the cost effective BLE button option ($32) for on demand set up. Also the app is very limited for the customer personal use features unless you buy a wifi module accessory to allow some remote features set up (more complex installation, $200+). Overall minor quips. The unit is of high build quality and sophisticated technology design that provides hot water efficiently and saves water due to the On Demand recirc feature!! Love it!

My first one died after ten years. I now know they need to be flushed annually to last longer than ten years, especially since I have a well with very hard water.

I got this with the recirculating back through the cold line. That’s a great feature. Replaced a non condensing heater so had to replace all the exhaust pipes with plastic due to the corrosive exhaust. Easy install since everything else was right there. It remembers usage patterns pretty well, so there’s always hot water within 5 seconds for my morning shower. If you take a one off shower, you may have to wait. One downside of using the cold water for recycle is that it takes a bit to actually get cold water out of the faucet you do the cross over at. We did the bathroom so not the end of the world. My downgrade on rating is on the noise level. We have this in an attic and either the air blower or the recirculating pump has a deep hum that vibrated the whole wall down to our ground floor. I put some sound damping washers on the mounting bolts, which have made it bearable, but you can still hear it every once in a while. Oh! Almost forgot, if you set the recycle to always be ready, it will go on and off through the night, so keep that in mind. Honestly if we had a garage to put this in instead of the attic I’d give it 5 stars.

Easy to install works very, very well would by again if needed recommended to all who ask about it

This has been a terrific hot water heater so far. The first one I ordered was damaged in shipping, but eFaucets was very easy to work with and accepted it back without trouble. I got a refund and ordered a second one that arrived in perfect condition. It was installed and I am very happy with it. One thing to note: Rinnai wants you to confirm the settings of the water heater after you first plug it in before it will work. If you want to do it the easy way with the app, you need to sign in with a “pro” account. Your installer may have one already, but if not, they do let anyone sign up as a “pro”, so you can get it to work. Supposedly you can use the buttons and display on the heater to do this without signing up with the app, but I didn’t try it that way

Love this unit. Hot water instantly, and it seems to be endless. We can have all the showers (3) going, and it keeps up. I wanted one for the last ten years, and I am extremely happy with the end result after finally going for it. Cheapest way to go is to purchase from Amazon or another direct retailer and hire a certified plumber to do the install. Official plumber dealers were selling the same unit with install as a package and my three quotes were between $5500-7500. I got a reputable certified plumber to garage install with a tap for a gas line off the main in our attic for $800, so about $2400 total, half of the “dealer” quotes. Luckily we had a 120 gfci outlet in the install location, so be advised you need that for your install. Ensure you get it inspected, flushed, and cleaned annually to help maintain longevity of the unit. Although we replaced an electric tank water heater, the gas bill hasn’t noticeably increased much if any.

It is a good Tankless Water Heater. The only problem that we have is, it takes 2-3 minuets to have hot water in the house. It is wasting about 2 gallons of water.

Purchased through eFaucets they delivered within 2 days. Excellent service and excellent delivery via UPS. The Rinnai was purchased to replace another unit already installed, simple as take out old and replace with new. Will use eFaucet for other items in the future. Rinnai so far is an excellent water heater, Love it...
