I use this oil with my Harvest Right freeze dryer. No matter which oil you purchase you need to replace the oil after every batch - but by running it thru a filter all you'll need to do is top it off a bit for each future run. Harvest Right now gives you a filter with your purchase. Here's what I do:First I drain the oil to a mason jar. Then I let it settle for a day or so. The top will be cloudy, but the bottom will separate and have numerous particles. Best not to send those through your filter for filter longevity. After the oil goes thru the filter it may not be clear anymore- a yellow color is perfectly acceptable as long as it's not cloudy or filled with particles. You can now use the filtered oil in your vacuum pump and just top it off with moreBlack Gold Vacuum Pump oil to the level indicated on your pump. I've run 6 batches with this bottle of oil and am not even half way through it. When you're on to your second bottle, save the empty bottle to use for the bit of oil with the particles that you don't run through your machine. Then safely dispose of it at one time, when full.

This oil is a higher quality than the factory oil provided with Harvest Right brand vacuum pumps.

We have been using our vacuum pumps without replacing the oil in our shop so I finally bought some oil and cleaned out the oil and replaced it with this oil. Its clean and good and a good oil to use to lubricate your vacuum pump. However, you might want to note that it does give off a slightly weird smell compared to the stock oil that I was using but my vacuum pump seems to be working and well lubricated.

I use this for a vacuum pump that is used as part of a harvest-right food dehydrator. I recently had some issues with the dehydrator, and as part of the process I changed the oil, just to ensure that oil was not the problem. The problem is that I used a different oil. TSI Supercool....an off brand that was MUCH cheaper than this at the time. Keep in mind though that this product was marked at $150+ per gallon at the time, I assume because the vendor was low on stock and decided to just up the price instead of delete the ad and repost it. This oil allows me to get to 300 mTorr within 15 minutes, where as the other oil prevented me from getting below a 1400.This is quality in performance, and from now on I will not use any other brand.*on a side note, there really WAS a problem with my device. And I spent MONTHS working with the company to troubleshoot and resolve it all. The oil being a problem only compounded other issues and made troubleshooting more difficult.

I don't know what a vacuum pump is really or what you would use one for, but JB Industries Black Gold is the only oil I will naked wrestle in anymore... In fact, if it were not for JB's Black Gold I may not have found my wife (and i'm not blaming you guys for her chronic hip injury after your smooth viscosity caused her to take a spill during a match), or become a regional county oil wrestling champion. After a wrestling match in Black Gold, my skin is glowing for days, and my friends and family are always asking me how my hair stays so conditioned, and here is a little secret for you guys... I use Black Gold to grease my hair every morning too, and any leftovers go right onto my face, arms, and legs to keep me looking young... I can't get enough of this stuff... Thanks so much JB, this is truly Black Gold... Does anyone know if this stuff is safe for cleanses? (not drinking it)
