After my dad passed away, I wanted to wear one of his rings for Father's Day in remembrance of him. The ring is too large, yet this filled metal spacer made it wearable for a perfect fit. As others mentioned, one must use pliers to tighten the edges. I have a pair of small, round-edged jewelry pliers that are exactly what's needed. By taking your time, you can bend it around the ring smoothly, with no sharp edges. Then, adjust the middle section to fit snugly on your finger. As long as you do these steps slowly and gradually, you will get it to fit comfortably. If you rush it by bending the metal back and forth, it will naturally fatigue the metal and break. I've tried the silicone spacers and they aren't able to keep their shape for more than a day. These metal spacers are the way to go.

Save the trip to ups to return and just don’t bother! These are insanely bad quality, your finger will turn green immediately most likely. They looked like samples and none of them fit either. My ring is super small I guess but either way this is just wrong wrong wrong.

I have recently lost some weight and my wedding band was too loose to wear. I have tried the awkward plastic ones. They are often bulky and will fall off. These are so easy to use and put on the ring. Much more comfortable and convenient than the plastic ones. I don’t even know it is there! I highly recommend these. For the price I paid I am pleasantly surprised! I don’t have to pay a jeweler to resize my ring now!

Works as it is intended however it was not easy to put on. I actually had to use small tools to squeeze it tight enough to keep it from moving on the ring band. I would not say it is slip resistant. I would consider it durable. It serves its purpose but would find it to be rather uncomfortable when I wear it.

You need about three sets of hand to make these work and then not sure if they would be the least bit comfortable

These metal ring guards are old-school but incredibly effective. You get a variety of sizes to match your specific band width, and once you fold the prongs down, the guard is absolutely locked in. It feels much more secure and professional than the plastic spiral coils. WHAT WORKS: • The metal construction is highly durable and stays firmly in place without spinning on your finger. • The 12-pack comes with multiple widths, making it easy to find a flush match for different styles of rings. THE CATCH: • You will definitely need a small pair of needle-nose pliers to get the metal prongs bent tightly around your ring. Trying to push the metal tabs down firmly by hand is frustrating and won't give you a comfortable, snag-free fit. THE BOTTOM LINE: A highly secure, durable way to resize a loose ring if you are willing to spend a few extra minutes installing it with the right tools.

Giving this product 2 stars because although it technically does what it should, it causes damage to the jewelry once installed. First off I’ll start by saying that there are two different types of ring guards that come in the package, a flexible plastic one which wraps around the band, and a metal one that is supposed to “hook on” to the bottom of the ring and help it to fit better. Well, i installed the metal guard in hopes it would stop my engagement ring from spinning until i could get it resized, and the first thing i noticed was the arms on the guard that wrap around the ring were much too long, so i had to kind of overlap the arms of it which was annoying, but understandable since it’s meant to fit all band widths. The problem started when i noticed it had actually caused some scratches on my ring, and sadly affected the engraving my fiancé had put on the inside of the band. The product also did not prevent the ring from spinning around on my finger, and since the arms had to be folded over and overlapping it didn’t really have a tight fit and would move around the band even at some points overlapping the pave diamonds along the sides of my ring. The gold also tarnishes quickly on the metal guard. After seeing it had caused some damage and wasn’t really working the way i had wanted it to i switched to the plastic ring guard that also came with this set. The plastic ring guard has worked much better, and helps to protect my ring from any scratches that would be caused by everyday wear however, my ring still spins around on my finger and i often have to adjust the plastic guard to keep it from covering up my side diamonds on my band. I wouldn’t personally recommend this for engagement or wedding bands, maybe for costume jewelry or a piece you don’t care much about as a quick fix. I’m sure there are better ring guards out there, it’s worth going for something more expensive to protect your ring, than something cheep like this.

Brilliantly simple idea. Used the coil cut to about 10mm now the ring fits perfectly and is comfortable to wear. Thoroughly recommend
