desertcart.com: One by One: A Lost in the Woods Survival Thriller: 9781728296197: McFadden, Freida: Books Review: Freida does it again- Unpredictable and dark. - I’ve read almost all of Freida’s books, and this one felt especially gritty. It’s less of a domestic thriller and more of a psychological battle for survival. The "Then" and "Now" chapters kept me hooked, and the reveal of the "why" behind everything was chilling. It’s a quick, easy read that keeps you guessing until the very last page. Highly recommended for thriller lovers! Review: Addictive - I love a good twist, and this had it for sure! Felt almost like a horror and a thriller all in one. Definitely an addictive read! A group of 6 friends decide to go to a remote inn for a week away. The problem? Two of the three couples seem to have marital issues, and it's making for an awkward car trip. Things get worse for the group when their car breaks down, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere. The group tries their best to make their way through a remote part of the woods with very little food and water. Throughout their adventure, members of their group seem to start disappearing - one by one. Will they find help before it's too late? I wasn't sure about this one - Claire, our main narrator, was not my favorite. The way she and Noah, her husband, talked to one another was so awful that I had to power through. Freida did a wonderful job of painting these two characters as a couple who are falling apart - the hatred between them is evident with every word on the page. This also did a great job of planting the seeds of doubt in your head - trying to figure out what is going on can be quite tricky! Overall, a great read that's hard to put down. Definitely give it a go!

Great read
Great read. Love this author’s writings. I didn’t want to put it down much like other books that I read by this author. Great story line and unpredictable with a great ending.

Lazy Twist Ending
The premise was interesting and I enjoyed the ride, however the twist made no sense, even for Freida. The connections to the twist also felt so forced. This one was a bummer.

A great twisty easy Rollercoaster of a ride!
A really good page turner! I cannot take credit for this, but someone said Freida's books are like ice cream; they go quick and easy! A big twist I wasn't expecting either! If you want a nice twisty suspense novel with minimal gore and sexual content, this is definitely for you!

I Enjoyed It !
This was a GREAT read! It begins with a fact of life that any human being can easily identify with. The author sprinkles breadcrumbs of mystery from the first chapter. Her descriptions enable you to easily imagine the scenes and identify with the different personalities of each character. Strange things begin to happen, which made me wonder what was really going on. But it wasn't what I thought. This wasn't a supernatural novel. But it certainly gripped me! I gobbled it up in three sittings. I looked forward to reading more, every time. It took my attention away from other books that I had purchased. Close to the ending, a true shocker materialized. Something that I could have never expected. The ending was also very satisfying. I highly recommend anything that this author has written. I've certainly become a fan!

Will recommend this book to everyone!
Once again, Freida has gotten me hooked so far deep into a book, I was unable to put it down. I should be sleeping right now, but I just had to finish this book to figure out who the bad guy was. Six people set off to have, what should be a relaxing and fun getaway. Little do they know what they have in store for them. Four of the six in the group have been close friends for a long time, so it should be a fun trip, right? Right away the trip starts off rocky, with one of the couples getting into an argument, so tensions are already high and the vibe is already awkward. Then the car breaks down and the group is forced to try and find their way to the hotel that they are staying at, but instead, they get lost in the woods where the group starts to dwindle down. But what is happening out there to cause this? The chapters are just the right length, and they alternate between Claire and Anonymous. Pretty early on, I thought I had figured out who Anonymous was. I was actually pretty confident in who I thought Anonymous was. Boy was I dead wrong! I rated this book at 4.5/5 stars. The only reason it didn’t get the full 5 stars is because I didn’t want the book to end. I was that hooked into it. If you are looking for a page turner that you will not be able to put down, then this is the book for you. If twists, turns and shocks are your favorite things in a book, then prepare for the whiplash that you will get from reading this book. Thank you to Freida for writing, yet another amazing book. Also a huge thanks to Poison Pen Publishing for allowing me to read this ahead of time!

Tolles, spannendes Freida-Buch. Wie immer ein echter page-turner, nail-biting Story! Kann man nichts falsch machen, außer zu sammeln und pro Woche ein Buch lesen.

This was my favorite Freida McFadden story yet. Fast paced, and with a good cast of characters. Just a few unclear loose ends (i.e. who rigged the car battery, some other logistical moves... don't want to give away any of the plot) kept it from being a 5 star read. Good job, Dr. McFadden!

Thrilling story reminding me a bit of one of Agatha Christie's stories about 10 people having been invited to a small island and disappearing one by one. Of course Freida McFadden's story is much more up-to-date and much bloodier. I enjoyed reading it.

El paquete llegó abierto. El libro está bien pero los bordes están ligeramente maltratados al igual que el borde.
