The KeySmart SmartCard is one of those simple gadgets that provides a surprising amount of peace of mind. If you’ve ever lost your wallet—or even just had that brief moment of panic when you can’t find it—you’ll appreciate this little device. It’s thin enough to slip right into a wallet like a credit card and pairs easily with your phone so you can quickly locate your wallet if it goes missing. Setup was quick, it works reliably, and it’s reassuring to know I have a way to track things down if they wander off. For anyone who values a little extra security for their wallet, the SmartCard is a smart and worthwhile addition.

PROS: 01. Slim Compared to other products this one is much more slimmer. As shown in the second photo this one is as slim as 2 normal credit cards. Making it easy to fit in many wallets and card holders. 02. Physically Flexible Some products of the similar category have a hard plastic construction making them impossible to flex. That there is an issue to those who carry wallets in their back pocket which is prone to being bent to an extent. With this tracker the construction is softer thus reducing the chances of breakage or cracks. 03. Discrete Unlike other trackers this has little to no branding. In real life this looks more similar to an apartment building keycard. If your wallet was to be stolen, thieves wouldn't pay much attention to it unlike an AirTag and would be less likely be spooked by it and throw it away making it much easier to track. 04. Loud alarm The included video demonstrates how loud it can get. For something so slim the sound is remarkably loud. It's almost as loud as an AirTag. 05. Wireless Charging When the charge runs out, other brands have opted to provide you with a replacement card for a fee or provided a proprietary charging attachment. This charges wirelessly thus eliminating the dependency on replacement services or having to use a proprietary charger that you may loose or may not function. Wireless chargers can be found almost anywhere and if your phone supports reverse wireless charging you don't have to rely on anything else. 06. No Power Off Button There is a small button on the card but it is only used for initial pairing and factory reset. After paring has been completed the button no longer functions until you remove it from your findmyapp. After which it becomes a "reset" button. This ensures that the card does not turn off while be carried in your wallet by accident and it can't be turned off by thieves. 07. Battery Life I have yet to test it's battery life but it is rated at one year. With it's charging capability that's a plus. CONS: 01. No U1 Chip DO NOT EXPECT PRECISE TRACKING! Like most trackers of the same kind this lacks an U1 chip which would have allowed precise tracking. Unlike AirTags you will not get compass like directions on your phone, instead it'll gives you a radius of where the card is. The tracking is mostly done using bluetooth so you get a range about 30ft. VERDICT: Given it's price, discreteness and charging capabilities I'd say this a superior product even with its minor con. I much rather be SAFE THAN SORRY.

Ever since I got this card it always pings me that "Wallet Card" has been left behind when I drive on the freeway, I'm assuming because the tracking ping is so badly staggered that it thinks the card fell out of my pocket while I'm going 60+ miles an hour. However I've kept using it just in case of an emergency. Such an emergency occurred last night where I thought I lost my wallet. For some reason the tracking app initially said it was lost and stopped tracking hours before, and it a. did not alert me until I actually started checking for it and b. somehow died when the card was at full battery. Then after searching for a few minutes it pinged at a location over a thousand feet away once before becoming unresponsive again. After searching more and sending out requests for it to play a noise dozens of times, I had to sleep and resolved to keep looking in the morning. Then when I woke up it turns out it was literally in my room, feet away from where I slept, yet the tracking and audio ping failed to tell me that. Find another product.

These cards work great! About the size of a credit card. I keep one in my work truck to see where my workers are. I keep one on my wife's keychain because she was always losing her keys but now we just go to Find My on my iPhone and play the sound and we find her keys. I also have one in my wallet. These cards charge very quickly on a wireless charger.

Updated 2/2026: KeySmart’s team reached out and offered a refund. I asked if I could get a replacement instead. I want to give this another chance and see if the issues had been fixed. I surely hope so! I wanted to love this item so bad and almost purchased a 3 pack. I had been researching different products for my wallet. The design is perfect for this need. Button is small enough you wouldn’t actually push it accidentally. Battery life is great. Connects with find my app seamlessly. The sound is similar in volume to an air tag. But out of no where (and when I need it most), the sound quit working 4 months into using it. I just dealt with it. I just got it out to charge it for maybe the 3rd or 4th time since February. I decided to see if there was a warranty. According to the website, you get a warranty if it’s purchased through their website ONLY. So is the company being cheap or are they purposely selling trash on Amazon? Because, that’s what it looks like.

I love this smart card. Connects easily to find my and I’ve already used it twice to find my misplaced wallet. Very thin and easily charges with an Apple Watch or MagSafe charger.

This smart card did exactly what I wanted without making my wallet bulky. It’s about the size of a credit card and slides into a card slot easily, so I don’t feel like I’m carrying a big tracker around. Once it’s in there, you pretty much forget about it until you actually need it. Setup with Apple’s Find My was super simple. I opened the app, added a new item, and it connected within seconds. Now I can see where my wallet is on the map and make the card play a sound when I misplace it around the house. The alert is loud enough to hear from another room, and the connection has been reliable so far. I also like that it uses the existing Find My network instead of yet another separate app. Everything is in one place, and I don’t have to manage extra logins. The only thing to be aware of is that you do need to keep an eye on the battery and recharge it occasionally, but that’s a fair tradeoff for something this slim. If you’re the type of person who occasionally leaves their wallet on a counter, in a jacket, or in the car, this is a simple, low-profile way to have some backup and peace of mind.

I've had a KeySmart wallet card since April 2024. It's handy for knowing the general location of your wallet but comes with a number of significant limitations. The KeySmart card generally does a good job showing the wallet location in FindMy. This lets me know that the wallet is with me, in the house/car, etc.. However, I receive multiple notifications a day that the wallet has been left behind despite it being next to my phone. I also have issues trying to active a sound if I misplace the wallet. The phone literally has to be next to the wallet to activate the sound. I don't have either of these issues with AirTags, which operate on the same FindMy network. Couple of details. I typically use RFID-blocking wallets make by Secrid and Ekster, and I suspect this contributes to the issue. To test this theory, I tested 1) the KeySmart card by itself, and 2) the KeySmart in the wallets along with all the usual credit cards, and 3) the KeySmart in the wallet but without other credit cards. The results are highly variable. Removing the KeySmart card from the wallet typically increases the range at which it will play a sound, but not always. There are times when the phone needs to be within two feet to play a sound, and this is with a fully charged battery. Likewise, leaving the KeySmart card in the wallet but removing the other credit cards sometimes increased the range at which it will play a sound, but not always. Having it in the wallet, with all other credit cards, seems to have the worst performance. The performance ebbs & flows since it generally gets enough signal to give a location in FindMy, but consistency and reliability clearly vary. Takeaway: It's a great idea and fits in a standard wallet. However, be aware that consistency and basic functionality is highly variable. It depends not only on the wallet, but also what else is in the wallet.
