Excellent service, ordered on Monday, arrived Tuesday. The machine itself seems very well made and I like that the fact it is supplied with a simple but serviceable storage pouch. I have only given 4* however because I think the guide book was of little help to this not very experienced Apple MacBook Air user, and it took me an hour to work out that I needed to access Time Machine through System Preferences rather than by the Time Machine icon in Launchpad. I expect that the next time I back-up it will happen automatically or that I can start the back-up from the Time Machine icon I have now allocated to my menu bar. My first back-up of 29GB took a frustrating 45 minutes to complete - I naïvely thought it would whiz through the process in a few minutes. This said, it did the back-up I needed and I suppose I will be able to pick up individual folders (my picture folder for example) and drag it in Finder to external hard drive location if I want to quickly make a safety copy of a batch of new pictures.22 October, 2016. I add the following: I have made this a 5* purchase as now I am used to the drive, I find it very easy to use via Time Machine. The first back up did take much longer than I expected but all subsequent back-ups have been completed in just a few minutes. The drive lives with my MacBook Air and is used regularly. I am very happy with it and would also be happy to recommend.

This is the best device I have used with a Mac and I can recommend. The reason I’ve not given 5 stars is due to the need to buy an extra USB lead divider as there simply is not enough power when connecting through the single lead supplied. Until I sussed this was the problem it was very annoying to have the device cutting out after 2 minutes rendering it impossible to use.

After 8 months of using this device as a backup drive, it stopped working. I contacted the company who were very unhelpful and told me to seek help from a drive specialist despite them claiming to be a specialist hard drive company. I paid to do have a specialist test it , was told the drive had failed. It has cost me a lot of money to have the data retrieved from this drive and then in turn return it to the seller. The drive is still under warranty. I am very disappointed as I am also out of pocket not only due to the data retrieval and testing but as I had to buy an alternative drive to replace the inadequate device above. I would not recommend the drive . I have also just been told that they will not refund me

When this arrived it had a faulty cable and the company were brilliant and speedy at sending a replacement. However 11 months on the product no longer works. It started with the cable issue again and now the drive doesn't come on. It was great but not long lasting which is a not what you want form a hard drive. Lost confidence in product quality completely.

Was please with the fact that the product arrived on time. I was actually surprised at the speed with which it arrived. However the reason 8 bout the product was also because in the product description it indicated that there would be a free carry case. However on arrival there was no can included.

First time I plugged the item in my Mac did not pick it up despite the light being on and the drive spinning. After trying the device on a MacBook the following day it worked then I tried it again on my Mac and it worked on there also. Had the device worked first time it would have got a higher rating.

I'm using mine as a time-machine backup drive for my iMac, and it is performing the task without issue. It's small and operates silently. Can't find anything to criticise - good price and functions as expected. I would definitely recommend.
