We have this mattress in our guest room and have always gotten compliments on how comfortable it is, so when it was time to replace our old mattress in the master bedroom, we ended up buying the same one again. I am SO glad we did! Our old mattress was extremely worn out and I would sink into certain areas, so I wasn’t getting the support I needed. I had trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, and would often wake up with sore back muscles or even muscle spasms. This mattress has the perfect amount of memory foam for me. It’s not too firm, but it still provides the support I need, and it allows for enough movement without disturbing my partner in the middle of the night. Since switching to this mattress, I’ve been sleeping so much better and waking up feeling much more comfortable. I’ve only had one morning where I woke up with the same kind of soreness, and that was related to a separate health issue rather than the mattress. We absolutely love this mattress and would 100% buy it again! (Even though we did already 😉)

I would definitely say this mattress is a medium firm. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping it would be softer. As some other reviews noted, it does sink down a lot when you sit directly on the side. That being said, my partner and I both lay on the bed without it sinking or feeling uncomfortable. We are both 200+ pounds and it is very comfortable to lay next to each other. In fact, it feels more comfortable the longer you lay in one position, almost like it makes a mold around your body shape. When you get up, it goes back to its original shape. One great thing about this mattress is that it does not shake or bounce very much. My partner tosses and turns all night and it used to keep me up, but I don't feel him moving with this mattress. He can flop down on the bed and it doesn't disturb me at all. It does hold in heat and can get pretty warm throughout night, so I would consider getting a cooling mattress pad. I let it expand for 4 full days and it expanded to 11.5 inches so I was semi satisfied with that. All in all, I don't regret buying this mattress and if you are on a budget, it's a great option. If anything changes over time I will come back and update this review. UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER: This mattress has held up. There's no significant sagging, sinking, or other wear and tear. And like I mentioned above, my partner and I are both 200+ pounds. The side sinking has not been an issue over the past year, or maybe it firmed up more over time, but I honestly haven't noticed it after the first month. I would definitely buy this mattress again. I originally gave the mattress 4 stars, but I'm updating it to 5 because of how well it's held up.

I’ve ordered this bed probably 6 times now. 3 times I’ve had issues with the order. Summary: if you happen to get one of the firm ones they are amazingly comfortable and a good price. As well as long lasting as my 2016 one is still good as new comfort wise. That being said there seems to be some decent quality variability issues where you might get a bed that might as well be a soft couch cushion. Worth the price when you get one of their firm ones. Not sure how to avoid this without returning and rebuying until you luck into the good ones. Quality/Order timeline: 2016: Ordered Queen 12 inch bed for myself and it said delivered but was not there. Reordered after refund and it was an amazing bed. Very firm and comfortable. And even today it holds up as my guest bedroom mattress. I’ve had multiple people comment on how good it is and my mom even got one after this after she loved it (from me). 2020: Bought 2 more 12 inch queens for my family’s house and they were great. 2021: Bought 1 for my brother who lived with me for some time and when it was delivered it was really soft. Like the softest bed your can find and the edge support was terrible. I have no idea how the original firmness could change so much but I thought it was a fluke so I returned and reordered through amazon. The replacement was firmer but still not as firm as original. We decided to keep it as he was not picky. 2023: I order my mom a king 12 inch for her birthday. It arrived great and was super firm like the original. She loves it. 2024: With my mom’s success I decide to upgrade my bedframe and get a king myself. The mattress they send me is embarrassingly soft. If I sit on the edge I sink all the way down to my bedframe laying in the center is still not comfortable but not as bad as the edge. I decide to return it to Amazon to rebuy it as I assume it’s a quality issue. They send me another and it’s the exact same thing, really soft. Sincd then I’ve had trouble sleeping, neck pains, and because the top edge sags it makes it harder to sleep right with reflux since my head is often tilted down a bit. The edge support is absolutely terrible on the new 12 inch king I got and the center is still not as firm as the original one I bought or my moms recently. I decided to return it this week. I know zinus/amazon will take my king back again and let me rebuy but it’s a pain each time to unbox, try out, and return. Not to mention they almost certainly throw away the ones I send back. So unless zinus can guarantee the firmness of another order, for the sake of avoiding waste and effort I won’t buy this mattress again. It’s a shame as the original one was my absolute favorite mattress.

I would say its a little more on the firm side. Its also a little shy of a full 12in but my wife and I really enjoy sleeping on the mattress. It's not life changing but we don't wake up with any aches or pains. There was an odor when we first unboxed it. Its not bad but it smells like a boxed mattress. We let it inflate in the guest bedroom for ~72hrs and now you can only smell it if you smash your face into the mattress and even then its super faint. I don't feel "cold" sleeping on it but we are unfortunately subjected to a hot bedroom and I would say we don't wake up in a puddle of sweat anymore, which is nice.

The short version is I really wanted to love this 12-inch Zinus queen-size mattress, which is great quality and arrived promptly. The truth is it's just too hard for a smaller female side sleeper unless you get a topper; the medium label is misleading. By comparison, I got a different, much more expensive memory foam mattress earlier this year. I would say that other mattress was a true medium, maybe a 6 or 6.5 on the scale of a squishy 1 to rock hard 10. This Zinus mattress is a true FIRM, 8.5 by my estimate. Further details if you're interested: The 12" Zinus mattress arrived promptly after order, and we unboxed it immediately after receiving it. We allowed it to expand for two full days before sleeping on it. There was minimal smell, and I measured it before sleeping on it to make sure it had fully expanded (it looked like it was within a quarter-inch of its full height, so I figured that was either my measurement error or it was close enough). Unfortunately, I woke up every couple of hours with hip pain, which I don't normally have sleeping - I'm only in my 40s. I can see this being a fantastic fit for a 220 pound man because it provides real support, but for an average-sized woman who's a side sleeper, it's quite uncomfortable. I had the same issue on night 2. I should note my under-20 slender but 5'5" kiddo tested it out as well with me, and while they slept well enough, they didn't find it comfortable. On the third night I dragged a full-size mattress topper I have onto this. It's a 3-inch green latex mattress topper which is the only thing that makes our guest mattress tolerable, and it worked beautifully. I think many folks would be fine with a 2-inch topper, in case you're curious. But those latex mattress toppers are a couple of hundred dollars (or more), which makes the cost of the mattress no longer a win for me. Now I have to decide whether to return this mattress or bite the bullet on a new mattress topper (as the mattress topper I have is only a full and I need a queen - and if I made do with the full-size topper, I'd need to replace the guest mattress anyhow). If they were advertising this as a firm mattress, I'd give 5 stars, but I can't help but feel their "medium" rating is misleading. Even for a memory foam mattress, this is firm. Be warned!

I was very impressed with this mattress from the first night. It expanded quickly after unboxing and had very little odor. The medium feel is a great balance not too soft and not too firm so it provides good support while still being comfortable. I also like the cooling memory foam. It stays comfortable throughout the night and doesn’t trap as much heat as I expected. The mattress fits my queen bed frame perfectly, and the quality feels excellent for the price. I’ve been sleeping much better since switching to this mattress. It provides good pressure relief, and I wake up feeling more rested. If you’re looking for a comfortable memory foam mattress that offers great value, I would definitely recommend this one.

Loved the first mattress!!! On my 2nd mattress. Last one I had for 7 years and could have continued to use it but needed to upgrade from a queen to a king! This one I bought didn't have a plush or soft version offered. I didn't realize until after it was received that it was medium-firm. It has been an adjustment to get used to. Do not recommend if you need soft or plush as i have had lower back issues since sleeping on this mattress. I wake up several times at nuggt with back pain and not being able to get comfortable. I also bought it in a twin size about a year ago for my teenager which was/is very soft. The middle is always the softest until you break in the edges! We will see if this mattress gets any better but it's been 2 weeks since sleeping on it with very little improvement. Good quality materials.

I wanted to emulate the feeling of my prior mattress and this one had the dense and memory foam layers, all in one, which I hoped would eliminate the need for adding any toppers. Well, we have had the bed for several weeks now, and we love everything about it. We chose the 12 inch version, but that was overkill, and we would have been just as happy with a 10 or even an 8 inch, because the mattress is so well made. Once you open the package, just lay the mattress down and allow it a couple of hours to fully *fluff up*. It will expand to it's full size within just a few hours. It offers the perfect combination of comfort and support. I'm a side sleeper and too much firmness can result in so much pressure that your shoulders, arms and fingers can get tingles or numbness. But, if it's too soft, your back will be very angry with you! That has not been the case with this mattress. You will feel little to no transfer of motion from your husband, wife, partner, or pets that you allow in bed. I have found that I settle in quickly and don't wake up feeling the need to switch positions all night. That's the best sign of a great mattress to me. I purchased this mattress in November 2025 and wanted to wait until I had used it for a while before leaving a review. After more than 9 months of regular use, I can genuinely say I’m very happy with it. The firmness is just right for us. It’s not overly soft and not too hard either. It feels firm and supportive while still being very comfortable to sleep on. My husband loves it as well, and it has continued to feel great even after months of use. So far, we’ve had a really good experience with it and I’m very pleased with the quality for the price. I would definitely purchase it again and recommend it to someone looking for a comfortable, supportive mattress without spending a fortune.

Replaced the mattress that came in our trailer with this one and it’s been a massive upgrade—way more comfortable and supportive, no more waking up with a sore back like the flimsy stock mattress used to cause. The cooling gel memory foam actually helps too, not waking up overheated in the middle of the night like before. Setup was easy, expands and airs out quickly once unboxed with barely any smell. Feels like a real quality mattress despite coming compressed in a box, holds its shape well and doesn’t sag in the middle. Great affordable way to make trailer sleeping way more comfortable, would definitely recommend if you’re stuck with a cheap factory mattress.

My partner and I bought this mattress 5 years ago in the queen size and it was awesome. It was soft but firm and we were able to sit up properly in it. We wanted to upgrade so we went back to the same link and chose the king option. We unpacked the bed, let it fill out to full form and put in our room, only to lay on it and completely sink into it. This is not the same firmness even though its the same style just in a king. We are not very pleased with this change or mistake in shipping. If your product changes you should let people know in the description.

I bought this based on the price and some of the reviews. Can't speak on longevity since its only been a couple weeks. The mattress out of the box took about two hours to almost fully expand. With a little walking and rolling on it, it was ready to sleep on the first night. Not super soft but not firm either and seems to support in all the right areas. There was no odour out of the plastic like other memory foam mattresses. Cover is nice and soft, however notes it should not be removed to wash so I am purchasing a zippered mattress cover to go over that so that it can be washed if needed. For the price point this is an excellent mattress and do not have any of the complaints others have noted.

This mattress is monstrously heavy. A two person job for sure. I did it myself and struggled. I had to walk it to my bedroom. Getting it up on my boxspring was a challenge. Once you get the outer plastic off and start to peel the rest off, you realize that it's going to be upside down when you get it done. The only way you can do it. Flipping the mattress so the cover was on top was very hard. The final step of taking the plastic off the mattress was further frustrating because it had to be pulled out from under the mattress. Now to the mattress itself. This mattress is rated as medium firmness. I would disagree with this immediately. My light frame of around 133 lbs. does not sink into this mattress, rather I lay on top of it. Laying on my back, my butt sinks in but thats it. I sleep on my side so it feels firm mostly. I would rate this as a "firm" mattress. I'm going to buy a 2" mattress topper to try and get a softer top. These opinions come my years of experience as a mattress salesman.
