Nice starter kit...
Got this as a Christmas gift to myself to start melting some silver. It worked like a charm. I would definitely heat up The Crucible then let it rest before heating your first batch of metal, I season mine with a little borax. All attachments fit perfect and the tongs appear to be nice and sturdy definitely recommend some leather welding gloves. Also bought some Graphite Rods to stir some borax Into The Crucible. I poured two bars my first try and the third bar I ran out of propane. Great little furnace and all-in-one price. I had to buy a mold to pour it in and the Graphite Rods but everything else came with the kit. Looking forward to Melting more...

Great Beginner Furnace!
This propane melting furnace is fantastic! It heats up quickly and melts metal easily. The 7KG capacity is perfect for my projects, and it’s very easy to use. It’s built well and feels very durable. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it works great every time. If you need a reliable melting furnace, this is the one to get!

Works well! 1st time user
Product is as described. I followed the instructions to prepare the crucible. Thr build quality is very good. I think the burner could be secured better as I felt it was a bit loose. In addition, the crucible feels a bit weak. I don't have anything to compare it to but it's showing signs of wear after a few uses. I did an initial melt of brass , which was old left over plumbing fittings. Getting the gas to air ratio was a learning experience as well as the temp of the brass. For my first attempt? Proud of the results. I will continue to learn. Word of caution. Please use safety equipment. Gloves, apron and face shield. Also be mindful that you must pay attention to the burn and be aware of placing your crucible on a surface which can handle the heat. Go out and be creative!

Pleased with my purchase
I've done a lot of research, but this is my first metal melting furnace and I'm very happy with it. It's very efficient, small but well made.

So far pretty awesome
This is my first foundry so I'm not coming from years of experience but so far I am very pleased. Overall the construction is good and I've had no issues with weak points though only time will tell. It does take a little time and experimenting to get the burners dialed in but now it starts easily and heats up very quickly. Be fair warned that this 25kg version is a beast when it comes to pouring. I added a little fabrication to the pouring tongs in order to pour by myself because this crucible is an absolute unit. Also the tongs are nothing special, I plan on upgrading them soon but they're sufficient to get you going. I'll try to update this as the furnace ages. Happy melting!

I'm impressed
I have no idea what I'm doing.. I'm new to melting metals. I have lots of scrap copper tubing so I thought that I'd melt it into clean copper to get more money for it. I haven't brought it to the scrap yard yet so I don't know if this is the best idea. But, this furnace is hot and easily melts copper. Cons that I found: it uses lots of propane and the pouring tongs aren't the best design. Maybe I have weak wrists but it's not easy to pour 10 pounds of molten copper using these tongs if you use the handles. I've been putting my hand close to the hot kiln to be able to control the pour. Other than that, this furnace is awesome. I'm buying one for my dad for Christmas. I keep getting a hot chunk of slag in the bottom, i don't know if this is junk from the copper or if it's from the air mixing with the molten copper, causing porosity. Like I said, I don't know what I'm doing. Each bar weighs 1lb,5oz

Casting for Beginners
Honestly when I started getting into casting metal this was my first furnace and it has been amazing! I have had to replace the fiber glass lining but that was after days worth of melting so it held up really really well. If you are looking to start casting and you don't know where to start, this is a good place.

Came with everything you needed to get started other than a lighter, propane, and a mold. Thats pretty nice for the price. The unit works well and gets up to temp fast, i found the flame will go out randomly sometimes even if i play with pressure. Im not exactly sure what its made from but its kinda rusting now around the hot parts which is kinda lame as the last ones i had would, only be abit chared. It has handles to move around, they are small but work. And some weird handle on the back i dont touch. Crucible is big and tough, tongs are long and work nicely for this so i liked that. And the unit will hold a larger crucible. All in all id recommend this for a beginner or someone thats been doing this for a while, works fine and gets the job done. Pros -size -price -includes everything -light weight Cons -feels a bit cheap -rusts?

Lid gots distorted under high heat... Heat is escaping off lid edges. The top lid is now offset and distorted after the first heat, and does not close properly. Took a long time to melt a small amount of copper. Used a lot of propane, to melt a small amount of material. NOT impressed

Delivery was great. Frustrated with produce. Try to melt aluminum as suggested with no success. Follow video on YouTube, still trying to troubleshoot why it's not working.
