Best food on the market.
I canโt say enough about this dog food. I have read and searched for a true low carb dog food for my 11 year old active Springer Spaniels. After researching extensively over the years for quality dog food, I made the conclusion that I would need to start making my own food to keep my Springer babies healthy. I was reluctant to go this route because of how complicated it can be to provide the essential nutrients for aging dogs. I had followed Daniel Schulof a bit and liked his story. When he created this dog food, I was thrilled. Based on what I had read, I trusted his judgement more than the big companies. Fast forward to 9 months of feeding my dogs Ketona. I will preface this with the fact that my dogs are active. They do 5 to 7 miles a day on leash and running wild change birds on the beach in South Georgia. They both have food sensitivity and started to gain weight. Lots of weight compared to their activity level. Other dog foods were not satisfying their hunger so at times I was over feeding them. Their coats were dull and they were beginning to have fatty lumps all over their bodies. Since the switch, they are back to a normal, fit weight. The fatty lumps have reduced and some have gone away. Their coats are once again soft and shiny. My female was showing signs of weakening back legs. The constant tremors were scaring me. The vet told me I needed to cut back her exercise drastically. I did for a while until I could get her back to a normal weight. Her back legs rarely shake and she is happily chasing her tennis ball again since I switched to this food. This food is a little more expensive but it is cheaper than a raw diet. It is well worth the convenience. I have 11 year old dogs that most people think are 5. I canโt wait for my vet to see them next week. She was not on board with all my food experimentation. Like most vets, she has been trained to recommend food that doesnโt make sense for dogs.

The best dog food ever made!
This dog food is the best dog food on the planet. My dog suffers from severe diabetes. Hills prescription dog food was no help for my dog at all. After hours and hours of scientific research on the internet, this dog food was recommended for dogs with diabetes. This is the ONLY dog food that helps get my dogโs glucose level back to normal. Itโs the closest thing to a raw dog food diet on the market. Itโs 46% protein. Itโs expensive but itโs worth it. However Hillโs dog food is the same price. As far as the taste, Iโm assuming itโs pretty good since my dog eats every bite at every meal. There is no smell to it whatsoever. Iโve even told my veterinarian about it and suggested they sell it. I order from Amazon because I can get it quicker from amazon than from Chewey, and I love Chewey. All I know is this: when my dog is on this food and NOTHING else, along with his insulin, his glucose level actually stays in the โnormalโ range. On ALL other brands, his glucose level stays in the 400-600 range. One last note. At 85 pounds, on Ketona, he requires less dog food than what he requires with other brands. That does offset the cost somewhat.

Awesome results! Great quality kibble!!
We have always researched and payed close attention to the safety and quality of the food we feed our dogs. However, when our Monroe got a potential cancer diagnosis, we decided to look into how her nutrition might be impacting her from a disease prevention standpoint. We have read about the benefits of a ketogenic diet in dogs with cancer, but didnโt know if we could manage feeding her a seemingly complicated raw keto diet. We have two other dogs to worry about, and work long hours, so convenience is key. Ketona seemed like a good option for us...she could get the nutrition she needed but we could benefit from the convenience of kibble. First I will say she absolutely LOVES the food! We are still working through the diagnostics to confirm (or not ๐ค) a cancer diagnosis, but we have decided to keep feeding her Ketona either way! In just under two weeks, her coat is shinier and softer than it has ever been, and she isnโt itchy or flaky anymore. This food has clearly had an impact! Itโs a little pricey, but when the benefits are so obvious, we donโt mind spending the extra! Thank you for providing a product that really has our petโs best health in mind!!

Better than many but is it the best for value for price???
In a rush to get my two Shih Tzu puppies off of the Puppy Chow they came home with, I did a quick look around and found Ketona. Overall I like the brand, food smells much better than low quality stuff, small kibble size is perfect for my pups and poops are less but still more than I expected from a higher quality food. First bag I bought (from another website) seemed fresher than the bag I bought from Amazon. Kibble could be crushed with a spoon or strong fingers unlike the Amazon "rocks". Not saying it's Amazons fault as the expire date was still valid. Value for money? Although this food is of much better quality than most stuff on the market I'm not sure it is the best kibble my money can buy. I'm currently researching a few other brands that have a higher protein content and carbs are just as low as this one but the price is slightly less. If the price point wasn't so high I may have stayed content and never started my quest to find the ultimate kibble but its game on now. Money isn't really an issue but if I'm paying a premium I want the best. I will continue to feed this as I finish my research. At this point I wouldn't hesitate to keep this brand in my pups rotation of higher quality foods especially since there was no need to "transition", they switched over cold turkey without any digestive upset!

Finally, a Keto Dog Food!
I have been feeding Ketona to my two huskies (Sascha Fierce & Kokonut) for over two months now and absolutely love it! This is the first time in 9 years that I have been able to feed them dog food. I've always home prepared all their meals due to lack of confidence in the dog foods available. This was both expensive and time consuming. Despite wanting to feed my dogs the best, I was struggling with the evidence that cooking their fats damages the proteins and depletes the nutrients. Since my husband does not agree with raw feeding, I didn't have many options. Then along comes Ketona with a raw alternative, low carbohydrate kibble that my dogs devour!! Unlike most weight loss blends, which are high in carbs, Ketona has about 70% less carbs than other kibbles on the market. For those of us who are Keto enthusiasts, this is literally the best thing to ever happen to pet care. There's a lot of science out there that indicates the processed food we feed our pets has caused them to have the same chronic diseases as humans. After losing my sweetest fur baby, Mishka, to cancer, I want to do everything I can to keep the others performing optimally, in the hopes of preventing disease and maximizing longevity. So far we are seeing positive results. My dogs love the taste, were able to quickly transition with no digestive upset, and in 2 months, Sascha has lost 2 pounds. I really couldn't be happier. I recommend the Autoship option because it saves you a couple bucks each month and arrives to your door on time with amazon shipping!

I think this may actually be BETTER than raw!
I don't do reviews often (though I rely on them frequently.....yes I'm that person), but this deserves a review in hopes it will help others out there. I have three french bulldogs and we live in Austin, TX. Austin is like the allergy capital of world, no lie. In addition to that, they have food allergies and of course, being bulldogs, carbs are a problem because their ears and wrinkles get that yeasty grossness and sugar (aka carbs) exacerbates that problem exponentially. After they spent their youths loosing huge patches of fur and suffering itchiness beyond reason, we found raw feeding. Problem solved, literally! It wasn't overnight because it takes time for their immune systems to recover after eating low quality processed dog food. Now when I say low quality, do not think I was feeding them Dog Chow or Sam's Club. I tried every EXPENSIVE "High Quality" dog food out there. While raw feeding solved their health problems, one can become quite a slave to their dog's diet. I couldn't afford the commercial or boutique prepared raw diets for three dogs. I joined coops and eventually discovered a Texas-based company that sells a reasonably-priced raw ground food for them. Even so, I had to buy a freezer, place monthly orders, and arrive on time for pick up at a designated location. I did this for YEARS, and gladly so because it kept my little darlings healthy. However, as my darlings aged, they became less tolerant to the fat content of the raw diet. In fact, it started causing pancreatitis in one of my girls. I felt like I was back to square one. THANK GOD for Ketona. I was shocked to find that the raw nutrition mentality has caught on so much that someone was actually producing a raw-comparable kibble that is LOW FAT! Hallelujah! My dogs have been on Ketona for about a year. I had to mix it with a bit of chicken broth in the beginning to switch them over but now they gobble it up straight out of the bag. They've done excellent on it. What is super surprising to me is that I think, and this is just my personal theory, that the protein in Ketona is somehow more accessible to their bodies than the raw diet was. I say this because my dogs have gained a substantial amount of muscle mass since switching. NOT fat, literally muscle mass. My little girl is now a little rock. No belly on her but she has muscles she never had before. Thank you Ketona for giving me healthy dogs and my freedom. I am forever loyal!

Bad odor. Dog won't eat it
This food smells horrible and as soon as I put it out for my dog it made my kitchen stink. My dog wouldn't touch it, even when I mixed cooked chicken with it.

Have Bought Multiple Times, Mixed Feelings, Inconsistent
Not sure how I feel about this product. I want to like it but the trust isn't quite there. The last few bags have each had about 3 random pieces of another brand's kibble in it. I'd love to know where supposedly in the US this food is being made/at what facility, and who they share it with. Prescription brands such as Royal Canin for example follow strict protocols such as not allowing cross contamination to happen and truly using what the label says is in the bag due to reasons such as allergies. (I've learned this very well via research, my vets, and trial & error with one of my dogs who has severe allergies). Also, Ketona's website ingredients and ingredients on their bags were mismatching for quite some time. And finally the last few bags have also given my dog awful gas and some loose stools. Again, I wonder what's really in the bag. I'm considering switching my dog with cancer over to the RC prescription diet even though it does have a little more carbs; at least I'll know for sure what's in the bag, it's pretty much the same price as Ketona which is overpriced, and many of the ingredients are higher quality. We'll see after she finishes up this current bag.
