For those who know what psyillium does for the GI system, this powder is a wonderful mixer for smoothies or to be packed into capsules. Psyllium is my favorite go-to fiber supplement for smoother 'movements' or when I'm feeling some blockage. The flavor of this powder is slightly grainy/wheaty like a cereal yet mild, and mixes well with beverage and food of quite literally any temperature or flavor. The pouch also seals well and is foil-lined for optimum freshness over time. The quality of the psyillium is apparent when opening the pouch--the piquant ricey aroma of the husk powder can be smelled and the color is vibrant and not dull or brownish. As an added bonus, it's organic!This powder is also very fine compared to whole psyllium husks. The powder mixes very smoothly and can be used thicken a smoothie naturally over time (I wait about 10-15 minutes) or baked into goods without adding grittiness or a discernable flavor. It definitely assists with movement regularity, yet works by absorbing water in the colon--you must not be dehydrated for this to work! The plumping action of the poweder when soaked in a liquid also helps generate a feeling of fullness and satiation. I've felt myself feeling as if I've eaten a modest meal when I have smoothies mixed with this, or even a single muffin with the powder baked in.

I did not get this to drink as a daily dietary fiber supplement as I do not have digestive issues. I got this strictly for making keto bread flour. Naturally, I got the unflavored. I can't review it on taste as I don't taste it in keto bread. Psyllium husk has been one of the most difficult ingredients for me in keto recipes. For some odd reason some psyllium husk powders turn purple (and you never know until you've baked your bread). Never understood why and this is not helpful when spending so much money on different brands. This stuff is not cheap! I can say that I have not had this problem with this particular brand, so I'll probably continue ordering it. It's organic and free from additives, gluten and corn (foods forbidden on keto because of how harmful they are to the body). For the price though, it should be a 3lb. bag and not 12 oz.
