Has literally changed my life. Can't express how much I love it.
Firstly, subjective experience aside this is a superb cup that's great quality, appearance and general feel. Highly recommend it. Now the personal aspect: Thanks to this cup my periods have gone from being an unbearable week of hell to barely noticeable and easily dealt with, I've genuinely cried with relief several times and can't stop raving about the Merula XL. I tried so many cups before this one and they were all objectively good but none worked for me, I was so frustrated I was regularly in tears just trying to get through my period. This cup was my final attempt and I'm sooooo glad I tried it. Took me a couple of inserts to get it to open properly (tip, don't fold past halfway down the bottom part and it pops open easily) and about a day to get used to it; it is slightly larger and firmer than average, but that's exactly what I needed due to a high cervix that moves around a lot and stronger internal muscles than I previously thought. It also tends to place itself perfectly, I still check every time but haven't needed to move it once so far. For the first day or so I could feel it and it did make me cramp a little (and I do mean very little, needed no rest, heat or pain relief which is highly unusual for me), but now my body has adjusted it's actually reduced my cramps to hardly any - normally I spend three days wrapped around a hot water bottle pretty much unable to move, using this cup I've barely felt any cramping at all and have been able to remain as active as usual throughout. There are no words for how happy this cup has made me, it's literally given me back the quarter of my life for which I was previously debilitated. Thank you!

This cup CAN handle extreme periods!
Wow! Having always struggled with heavy periods, I have tried to find a cup that would work for years and finally have! This cup is amazing. The rim at the top means that you can remove the cup and not easily spill the contents.. the “ladder” pull at the bottom is easy to use and comfortable to wear. It holds an amazing capacity! I would usually go through a super max tampon ( or when in the US the xxl tampons) every 30 mins on days 1&2 of my period but I was able to leave this cup in for HOURS on the first day... and consequent days, leave it almost the entire working day. Absolutely revolutionary for me. It is sturdy and so feels firm to begin with but after a day I was used to the feeling... and having had 2 children, it stays in place, fits well and sits where it needs to! I would 100% recommend this cup for anyone post-childbirth with extremely heavy periods and endometriosis.

A game changer
This cup has changed my period drastically. It's the second cup I've tried (first was the mooncup) and I can't see myself trying anything else, aside from perhaps the smaller size for lighter days. It did take a few tries to get it in and open so my first cycle with it was a definite struggle. But it was so worth the perseverance - no leaks, no discomfort, and the ring pull makes it very easy to remove compared to a stem. Great for people with a heavier flow who want the peace of mind that it's not going to leak or need changed every few hours. It can be a bit tricky to get it to open but a little bit of squishing and poking once it's inside always does the trick! I still use my mooncup on the last 1-2 days of my period as the capacity of this seems excessive for a light flow but overall it's a game changer. Would highly recommend if the more traditional shape and size of cups isn't working for you.

Love the colour.
Have 3 previous cups but I thought I'd try a larger size for convenience. My body had other ideas and didn't make it easy for me. Only tried the once to be fair. Hoping won't be needing them at all soon... Anytime now... If you understand what I mean. ⌚. Nice looking good quality cup in glorious orange with a colour coordinated pouch ladder stem that was easy to trim to required length. Easy to hold on to stem to remove cup. Unfortunately cup was uncomfortable once put in place and I could feel it and it gave stomach ache. If I had the patience or the inclination I would have tried different insert methods. I don't regret the purchase.

Game changer for heavy periods! Great product
Just finished my 3rd cycle using this product and I have to say, I think it's amazing. Apologies in advance for TMI. I have always had heavy periods. Always had to use 2 forms of protection on my heaviest days (tampons & towel / Menstrual cup & towel) and would have to replace products frequently. I started using Menstrual cups a few years ago after hearing they were better for heavy periods and better for the environment. I used comfy cup which I also bought from amazon. This is a really good 'starter cup' but again on my heaviest days had to empty frequently. So what do I love about this cup : Capacity - it is the biggest cup that I have found, and even on my heaviest days, I usually can last a couple of hours between emptying. With other cups I sometimes had to empty a few times within 30 mins Handle - this is SOOOO much better than all other cups with a single tab type thing that you have to try to pinch and pull out. The handle makes it so much easier to pull out as you can put a finger through the loop Shape - initially I was put off from buying this cup because, quite frankly, I thought the shape looked a bit scary. How is it going to go in? Will I be able to feel it? Well the beauty with this cup is there is no slippage that can happen with cone shaped cups. It sits nicely above the pelvis bone (I think it's the pelvis bone, I am not a body expert). Anyway, when in place, I cannot feel it at all. Colour - it doesn't stain. I have had translucent cup before which go a bit of a manky colour over time Watch outs: You need to follow the instructions and place the cup at a forward angle. I have leaked once using this cup and it was because I hadn't put it in at the right angle. I think I have got the hang of this now. Fold down to half way down - I find it pops out easier

It was the best of times...it was the absolute worst of times!
I was so excited to have a new high capacity cup, that I tried this cup on a dry run. I had no issues with urination or defecation, and it caught all of my discharge. So I knew that it would work. When my cycle began I inserted my Merula XL I had the best run that I have had in years. On my heaviest day I made it almost 5 hours before having to dump out the contents! This means so much to me! There was a learning curve, but it was well worth the study-time. On day two of my cycle I learned that I had not mastered this cup. I woke up to a gush! After jumping quickly out of bed and running to the bathroom, I realized that I cannot sleep through the night with this cup. The cup was full and my period undies were soaked. 4 hours may be my sleeping limit on heavy days. So I still gotta get up in the middle of the night. Secondly, I have to make sure that she pops open. I had struggled with the same problem with the original One Size Merula. I had become over confident, and rushed during insertion. I have learned to pinch the bottom and twist the cup to make sure that it opens. Also after using the restroom I have to make sure that she is still in the proper position and sealed correctly. As my period lightens up a bit I get 6-8 hours out of the Merula XL. By the end of day 4 I can rest through the night and make it a full 12 hours. After two months of hanging with this chica we had become pretty good friends. NEXT LESSON...This Cup Can Flip or Turn SIDEWAYS! Yes, you are reading this correctly. Month 3, while cuddling my cervix this cup decided to yank my cervix and turn sideways. I could not reach the stem, and the cup is too sleek to just instantly grab. I have never had a scare like this. I was not being active. I was seated at my desk typing letters at work. The Merula XL could work for my extremely high flow and high cervix, but it tried to kidnap my cervix and got stuck along the way.

Great cup for heavy periods
I needed a big cup for my very heavy period. I have Mooncup which I like a lot however it is too small for my heavy days. I also have a standard size merula which unfortunately doesn’t work for me. I never manage to get it open. I decided to give a try to this Merula XL because of its big volume and the fact that some reviewers mentioned this XL version is harder at the top and therefore it opens up much easier than the standard size. I am soo happy I tried this one. I managed to get it open every single time on first try. It gave me so much confidence on my heavy days as I don’t have to be worried about any leakage for hours.

Amazing high capacity cup, no leaks
After struggling with the Lunette cup, I bought this one as needed a greater capacity. It is a lot larger than any other cup so takes a while to get used to inserting it, but after a few months of use I can insert and remove it in seconds. When the suction has formed there is no leaks apart from when it overflows. On heavy days it can still overflow and leak during the night- but this is just because of my heavy flow. At first i struggled to get the cup to fully open, but afterwards i found out it usually opens on its own at least a few minutes after inserting- you can literally feel the suction as it pops open! Overall great cup and works for me, but everyone is different, so beware this cup may be too big for you.
