Premium Sports Nutrition Energy Gel for all endurance activities. Variety Pack contains at least 6 Huma Gel flavours. Visit the manufacturer's website for further details about Huma Gel. Review: Huma gel is our go-to gel for marathons and ultras. They sit well on the stomach, there's a good range of flavours (fruits and chocolate/coffee) to suit whatever you need on the trails, and some have caffeine or electrolytes. If you can't face gels like SIS ones these are well worth a go and are a completely different texture and flavour. The chia seeds must be ground up as you don't get them stuck in your teeth like you do with alot of chia based products. I would say the energy release is a bit slower than your average syrupy gel. This was our third box of huma gel and it has become part of the tried and tested racing goody cupboard. If you're looking for a gel that is less bouncy on the stomach, tastes like real fruit (not fruit air freshener) and gives a more stable energy boost I'd recommend you give these a go. Review: I use these on longer fell and trail runs. The flavours are good and they are easy to use. Compared to the competition (I have used Torq, High5 and SIS) the texture is like a grainy jam, thicker than some and less syrupy. I find them gentle on the stomach, more satisfying to eat while enjoying the view from a summit and fine on the go, even without water, though better with. The top is easy to tear without losing it, unlike others which take more force. The spent sachet makes less of a sticky mess in my gear. I'd be inclined to have an SIS Isotonic gel in reserve to take without water in a half marathon, whereas I'd happily use Huma in a marathon (but that is specific to my pace and fueling). I am reordering these. The only disappointment is the narrow range of specific selections. I will probably choose the variety pack again.

Purchased a variety pack and I have to say that the flavours and tastes are great. The Apple cinnamon was particularly good tasting just like a good apple pie filling and the mango was a close second with that little sharpness that most mango pretenders miss leaving them too sickly sweet. I was a bit disappointed that the variety pack was not available with an option to have non caffeine only, but that is usually the case with most mixed packs. The biggest critical feedback I would give is that the gels are quite lumpy/gritty, not I know this is most likely the chia in them but it does take a bit of getting used to if you are accustomed to smoother gels...it certainly caused me to pause and recoil the first time I tried one myself. After using them only 4/5 times so far it still is slightly unpleasant to me but I have been very happy with the energy results and also have had zero digestion issues with them,

Iโve tried pretty much every brand of energy gel. Huma are a premium priced gel but thereโs several things that I feel justify the price. No random preservatives. Natural flavourings and I like the consistency of the chia seed gels during runs and find they leave a pretty clean aftertaste in the mouth. The added caffeine is a nice touch too. Chocolate and Mocha are my faves. For long races like IM 70.3/ IM gastric distress is a big deal and I find these sit well in my stomach whilst the maltodextrin heavy gels tend to act up. On the bike Iโll be taking down bars and higher fat content energy sources but I find on the run calories from carbs are key.

My weekly mileage is pretty high and I like to have a gel to hand on a run that's over 10/11 miles, or a gel before a mid-long run if it's early morning and I don't have time for brekkie. I suffer with IBS and have a sensitive gut so I seek out sports nutrition that doesn't aggravate me while I'm running. I've now used 6 Huma gels in a 3 week period, having never tried them before, and they tick every box - no gut issues, taste good, only 1 gel required for a mid-long run of 10-15 miles. I like the protein element to the gel alongside pure carbs to give a more balanced energy release and some on the go muscle repair. Job Done!
