Liked the fact that the block of alum was just that. A solid dependable product that will last a long time. I use it after each shave. Will reorder, however needs far better protection when shipping. My block was broken in several pieces

This does the job! I actually never heard of Alum until it was recommended by my barber. In fact, he said that I shouldn’t get too worried about investing in a lot of expensive or hyped up products that some people do but he said one thing that is pretty inexpensive, but will make a world of difference is an Alum Block! He even said that people use it as a natural deodorant! It stops bacteria from forming. (I have not used the block for that purpose lol) But I can definitely say it has made my shaving experience much better. It has taken away the redness that I always experience after I shave, and it closes my pores, and it makes everything much softer smoother, and overall very pleasant without a strong “chemical” feel. Just natural and simple. I don’t think I experienced any stinging when I started, but I might suggest being gentle when using it for the first time. I’ve bought three blocks over the past year and a half (they last a long time unless you accidentally dropped them on the ground like I did). There are other brands, but this is a solid, reliable, and trusted French producer that I’ve always had consistency with when I purchased.
