I saw a friend of mine using a similar type compost bin in her kitchen recently and I was like "wait - whoa - what is that??" I didn't know decorative countertop compost bins were a thing, so I went on the hunt. This one here is just beautiful and the copper color looks classy in my kitchen that has other "copper accents". So far, I've had scraps in it for about a week and ZERO odor in the kitchen. Quality is excellent. I love it!!

Despite the name, it is not a bucket for creating compost. It is a bucket for collecting kitchen scraps for taking out to your composter/compost heap. I got this to replace a ceramic one I've had for years, and recently broke the lid (ceramic meets granite, ceramic loses). I wanted stainless steel so that the same thing doesn't happen in the future. The retro aluminum garbage can look of this one appealed to me. The first thing I noticed is that it is about half-again as big as the one I had, but still fits neatly in the corner of the counter. The second thing is how lightweight it is -- and I mean that in a good way. The ceramic one was heavy when it was empty. This one is a good quality of stainless steel, but quite light and easy to carry even when full. The third thing is how easy it is to empty. Unlike the ceramic one, the lid of this one fits inside the container; it doesn't rest on a lip. So, the sides are completely straight from bottom to top. Just tip it upside down, and it empties. No need to scrape out from under the lip. It rinses clean, with no staining. I wish now I hadn't ordered the compostable bags for it, although they are always handy. I also suspect that this will be better at keeping out fruit flies, as the fit is quite snug. The lid hanging from the side while you're putting scraps in it is a bonus.

This product really makes it easy to collect compost items to then be transferred into my larger compost bins. I like the sleek look and functionality with the handle to carry the container around.

I really like this bucket. I've washed in the dishwasher and it comes out clean and pretty - no rust or hazethe only thing I haven't appreciated is a lack of information about what to do with the fancy air filter(s). How are these to be cleaned and maintained?Minus one star for leaving me with this important maintenance information missing.

This compost bucket is perfect for what I need. I keep it under my sink and it's readily available every time I cut up vegetables. When it's full It's easy to carry to my compost bin. It doesn't smell and nothing can get into it. This compost bucket is exactly what it says and works perfectly! I used to use an old plastic bucket which had to stay outside my backdoor. It was very inconvenient to bring in as it would draw ants and other bugs because it didn't have a lid. This new compost bucket has solved the stinky plastic pail problem!

It's a nice size and does very well containing the smells of composting food. Very pleased!

Stainless steel, light weight countertop compose collector was the perfect choice to keep tidy order in my kitchen while collecting my weekly coffee grinds until I speak in garden on weekend. Before I was putting in paper towel and collecting in plastic bowl until the weekend. I hated the unsightly appearance on my countertop.
