New Star Foodservice Commercial Cast Aluminum Ice Scoop, 12 oz

It is a nice solid scoop. I should have went a size smaller, this one is just a big for the freezer ice bin. The scoop itself is solid and made of quality material. I am making this one work for now though.

I have a plant care business and repot huge plants all the time - this scoop is the exact perfect size to fill a pot with a lot of soil and save me a ton of time. Its also super heavy duty and strong so I am never worried about breaking it no matter how much soil I have in the scoop or how wet and heavy the soil is. I know I know I will never have to replace this unless I leave it somewhere.

It is made well and fits the job we bought it for. Using the scoop to get ice out of the freezer container

It's lovely and work well to scoop ice.

The New Star Foodservice 34523 Cast Aluminum Scoop has quickly become one of the most-used tools in my kitchen—and not just for ice. It’s solid, well-crafted, and extremely versatile, but I was surprised to learn that it’s not dishwasher safe, which feels like a miss at this price point. 💪 Built to Last – This scoop is made from durable one-piece cast aluminum, which feels sturdy and reliable in hand. No joints or seams means no weak spots, and it easily stands up to heavy use—whether it’s scooping ice, flour, dog food, or bulk grains. 🧊 Perfect Shape & Size – The 12-ounce capacity is perfect for home use, and the rounded bottom makes it easy to scoop smoothly and pour without spilling. It glides effortlessly through ice or dry goods, and the handle is comfortable even with prolonged use. 🧼 Not Dishwasher Safe – Here’s where it loses a star. For a kitchen utility tool like this, I would expect dishwasher compatibility, especially given its professional-grade look and feel. Handwashing is manageable, but it’s an added chore that could be avoided. 📌 Final Thoughts If you need a durable, multi-use scoop that performs well and looks good doing it, this one delivers. Just be prepared to hand wash. It's a minor inconvenience, but worth noting for those who prefer low-maintenance kitchen tools. That said, the build quality and performance absolutely justify the purchase for most users.

I was looking for scoops for additives I use in my potting soil, and ordered #34547 which was too large for the additives, but works perfectly for scooping soil into larger pots. I then ordered #34523 and it was perfect for the additives (perlite, vermiculite, etc.). The shape of these scoops is perfect for my purposes. They are very easy to use, and the ergonomics fit my hand perfectly. These scoops are lighter weight than the older ones I was using, but they are very sturdy and do the job. I have been using the larger scoop to mix the additives to my potting soil, and it has made this job much easier. Since I also buy various grains in bulk for cereal and flour, these scoops are also very useful to scoop these products into smaller containers for use. Since the scoops are made of aluminum, there should be no problem with rust. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Good product . Heavy duty.

makes an excellent scoop for garden products like potting soil, perlite, etc. not for digging in the garden. fantastic for arthritic or weaker hands.

Be careful, scoops are addictive. It starts out as just one for the chicken feed or whatever, but then you enjoy it so much that you get one for the baby chick feed. And then the potting mix, then a cute lil baby scoop for the bonsai mix etc. I'm at 4 scoops already but rest assured my mind is feverishly thinking of other things that need scoops. This particular scoop is very good value and built well.

Bought to scoop pellets into my smoker pellet tube. Perfect size. Great quality

Es excelente para manejar cantidades grandes, muy buen material, una sola pieza, me gustaría que tuviera algo para poder colgarla pero yo sabía que no lo tenía cuando la compré.

Broke at handle neck after a while, probably due to the cast material used.

Me ha parecido un material bastante fuerte no se deforma ni se siente endeble me ha gustado mucho la comprap
