This grill is great. Best on I have ever owned. It does leave grill marks and make food taste great and evenly cooked. The thermometer is miss leading on temperature. Because of the convection but gets plenty hot. I've been cooking on this grill for 5 years and had to set the reviews right. I can cook skin on chicken put the meat probe in set the temp I want my meat to cook to and walk away and Wait for the alarm to go off that let's me know it's reached the deired temp with no fires or flare ups. It does need to be cleaned more often. I have modified mine since the lp hose is a it short but that's my only issue.

This outdoor product is not a grill. It is a convection oven that grays your meat, sausage, etc. rather than grilling it. If you were expecting searing hot grates that left characteristic grill marks, forget it. On top of that, the one I got didn't ever get hot and there's no returning it once you've tried it. Don't be fooled - this is not a grill.
