Nice little model of a old-style tower clock, like many seen in. Europe. And it is articulated - move the main gear with your finger and all the gears turn! I chose to paint the main visible pieces with acrylic craft paint in white, black and shades of gray. I also chose to omit the little characters, as cute as they may be. See the results! The instructions are IKEA-like illustrations, so they are simple to follow. The pieces fit if lightly sanded as instructed. The quality of this little articulated model is top notch. I will mount my model in a shadow box with a glass face. It's a great conversation piece! Well worth the $15 price tag for a nostalgic nik-nak!

Really enjoyed putting this together, as it's one of the more thoughtfully designed and precisely made kits I've tried. Super-rigid pieces, very helpful instructions, and they even put in a little spindle to help you get parts out and reach into the innards to fix anything that needs adjustment. Beautiful designs too, especially when the shapes play against each other as you operate the gears. Note that I bought this clock because it was so cheap compared to other kits, but realized why when it arrived - the box was pretty small, comparable to, say, a couple of large stacked iPhones. Ultimately though, it was just as fun to assemble, and ends up having having that very cute, intricate feel in the mold of a Faberge egg.

This is a very cute and fun little wooden puzzle. It is really tiny but also really easy and perfect for beginners. My only real issues with it are the fact that it didn't come with any sanding paper (which is needed) and that the pieces are pretty thick and a little hard to remove from their holders, more so the smaller ones. And while I didn't have any break I did have a couple that had small chips along the edges. It definitely would have been nice had they been a little easier to remove but the quality of the wood was great and not at all cheap like other wooden puzzles I've bought. Since this contains lots of "gears" there was also lots of waxing which was a little tedious but needs to be done. Overall it was a fun way to spend an hour or so and I had to put a little muscle into certain pieces that did not want to go on easily, but I'm very happy with the results and will absolutely be purchasing more products from UGEARS... =)

This is a great Ugears kit. There is a mechanical aspect to the kit, so I wouldn't quite call it "entry level". I do, however, think that anyone who has good manual dexterity would enjoy this as a beginner's kit. My only complaint is that it doesn't actually function normally. It goes in three hour increments every time the minute hand goes around. This means that I can't set it at ten minutes to two to display. Oh, well.

Fun to put together, you definitely needed patience to figure out each step. Pieces were cut very well but you had to take your time getting them out. I gave it a 3 rating because the instruction manual could have done a better job of making the diagrams bigger to actually see what the step was and proofreading for easier understanding. But I love a challenge.

Still my favorite wooden gear model. I've bought several of them so far.

I made my first clock as a Christmas gift. But someone admired it so much that it disappeared. So I made a second. A visitor just "had to have it" and there it went. Finally finished the third around the end of January and managed to gift it. It was a hit!

Facile à construire. Bien évidemment elle n'a pas de mécanismes pour indiqué l'heure mais elle est parfaite pour décorée, c'est très mignon. Ça peut être une super activité à faire avec des enfants, j'ai adoré. Par contre je n'ai pas eu de chance pour la livraison, elle est arrivée deux semaines en retard en marquant sur Amazon "remis en main propre", j'ai cru ne jamais la recevoir :/
