Flexi leashes are the best retractable leashes on the market. I have a few that are 20 years old and still work. Not only that, their customer service is top notch. I had bought a cheaper model that was sold on another website and it broke while it was still under warranty and they replaced it with their top of the line model. This model is a real bargain. The handle is comfortable, the locking mechanism is perfectly positioned to quickly lock the leash and the belt is thick and well made (I do have a medium soft grip model too and the belt is a bit thinner and is fraying, but the leash still works fine. The locking mechanism isn't as nice as this one either). This model is well built and definitely made to last a long time. One warning though is that retractables are not for everyone. They can be very dangerous for you and your dog if you are not always aware of your surroundings. Because the leash can extend so far cars, squirrels or other dogs can create a dangerous situation if your dog lunges after them. I was knocked off my feet when my 43 lb Border Collie chased a squirrel.

Got the beautiful blue (exactly as pictured) medium 16' for our Mornin'Glory... 22-50 lb retriever puppy. This has not disappointed in any way. The value is awesome on the smaller size to learn with a puppy. We have been using extendables for 3 years, but there is a learning curve so humans, animals, and objects don't get hurt. Never grab the line with a bare hand as you can get a deep cut or ligament tear!!! Never reel it in while in the mouth, wrapped around a leg, or under foot of an animal!!! If you release it to reel in when unattached, the clip can ricochet and cause damage!!! That said, these are life savers for both our dogs. I'm fairly sure we will be in the heavy duty for this puppy by the time she's 10 mo, but for now, the lighter weight is a much better match to her frame and 10' shorter keeps her out of her big sister's way. I love that we can set them easily at any length (say 3' for walking in a crowd) and lock them in as a leash with a ergonomic handle and not have to have long or heavy leashes wrapped or bunched in our hands. Then extend it to the length of a long line for parks and sniffing walks.

I thought I had originally purchased a Medium Classic Flexi Retractable Web Leash about 4 years ago, but after receiving this as a replacement I could tell my original was different. So I dug up my old Amazon receipt and sure enough I had originally purchased something that was sized M/L and that there in lies the difference. So the difference between an M and an M/L is the metal clasp or latch on the end of the leash that connects to the D-ring on a dogs collar. The M/L leash strap and body were pretty much the same as the M but the metal clasp/latch was the size of the L and actually better material than the new L that I just purchased. The M/L latch was a very good feeling quality and either made of all stainless steel or it could have been a nickel plated brass which is still good. The new latches still are rust resistant or proof but made of a potted metal like zinc or some other cast or sintered alloy and very light weight in comparison to a solid brass or stainless steel and I'm sure much less sturdy. The heavy latch is probably what uprated the M/L to the strength of todays L...110lbs. So the main reason for returning this M and getting the L is also the size of the latch that came on this M. It is much smaller than the M/L and the L and since my dog wears a harness with a double D-ring the small latch on the M was insufficient. My dog is a poodle and weighs 45 pounds, not really all that big and under the M 55lbs limit but that extra small latch/clasp was just to small to hook up both D-rings properly on my dogs harness. One last thing. After trying this M on my dog with that small lightweight latch I would never size a leash or anything for that matter without a generous factor of safety. The M/L was rated at 110lbs too I believe and since the only real difference is the latch, that would tell me the latch is crucial and integral in sizing these leashes. So this M leash is rated at 55lbs but I would never trust that latch on a 55lbs dog especially if the dog were aggressive....too risky. So if your dog is anywhere near 50lbs or even just over 40lbs then get the Flexi Classic in L and you'll be happy you did. The webbing on the L is a little heavier than the M. The overall handle size and weight between the M and L is not that much different and marginal at that. Plus you get the larger heavier latch that is really the last line of defense on losing your dog due to equipment failure. So don't skimp.

Adoro las correas flexi porque son las únicas que resisten la batalla diaria de los paseos. Además, como miden 5 metros las correas, mis perritos siempre van cómodos y no me dan jalones. Duran años, literal, y hay de todos los tamaños. Yo uso chica, mediana y grande.

Sin duda la mejor correa retráctil. Mi primera correa ya va para cinco años y esta la compre para mi segundo perro. Altamente recomendado!

Funciona bien. De pronto se atora el mecanismo, pero basta con darle un par de clics para que vuelva a funcionar. Solo ha y que cuidar que no le entre tierra a donde está el botón
