I bought this as a gift got my son, who had been anxiously awaiting the release of the last Bad Guys book. He loves these books. They are entertaining, with funny pictures and dialogue, and likeable characters. My son is an avid reader and this is one of his favourite series. He has read all of the books multiple times. I definitely recommend the whole series, I would say it is appropriate for children grade 2-5.

I picked up The Bad Guys in One Last Thing (The Bad Guys #20) for my 8-year-old son, who has enjoyed the series for years, and it absolutely delivered. If your child already loves The Bad Guys books, this installment feels like a rewarding continuation with the same fast-paced humor, expressive artwork, and page-turning energy that made the series popular in the first place. What stands out most is how approachable the book remains for young readers. The chapters move quickly, the illustrations keep kids engaged, and the jokes land well without feeling repetitive. My son finished large portions of it in one sitting, which says a lot for any children’s book competing with screens and sports. As a parent, I also appreciate that the series continues to encourage independent reading confidence. Kids feel like they are reading a “big kid” book, but the format keeps frustration low and momentum high. This title especially has enough action and personality to keep reluctant readers interested. The physical paperback quality was solid, and the Amazon delivery experience was smooth as expected. Overall, this is an easy recommendation for families with elementary-age kids, especially ages 7–10. If your child has followed the series, this is a must-buy. If they are new to it, I’d suggest starting with earlier volumes first so they can enjoy the character journey more fully. Five stars.
