ESR for MagSafe Car Mount 15W Charger Air Vent/Dashboard

I've been a huge fan of my ESR Halolock case for protecting my iPhone as well as giving it a reliable MagSafe mount. So when I saw that ESR had released a Qi2 charger, it was an easy decision to get one. Mechanically, it seems well designed, with the mount moulded from a strong matte black plastic without sharp edges and with enough flex in the plastic to feel like it's gripping securely. The vent clip has a strong embedded metal spring, which holds solidly without feeling like it's going to scratch, and there's a brace, which latches into a range of positions, as shown in my photo. The whole mount can rotate to fit horizontal, vertical or angled vents, and connects to the charging pad with a ball joint tightened with a thumbwheel. The MagSafe mount latches to the phone with a satisfying click as you can see in my video :) It then holds the phone solidly without undue vibration, and it's easy to just pull the phone away when you need to. Charging performance seems fine, just like MagSafe at home. You get a double-ended USB-C cable, so depending on your car, you may need a USB-C adapter, or your own USB-A to C cable to actually provide the juice. As the instructions note, your USB power source should meet the PD or QC fast changing standards to get the full performance. I did test it with a USB A-C cable on an old 3.1A adapter and it did still charge with that. Overall, pretty easy to fit and just use without worries. Perfect if you're already in the MagSafe ecosystem (and if not, why not!)

It's a must-have for anyone seeking a reliable and efficient solution for in-car charging and phone placement.

Works, magnet is strong so phone held well, charges slowly as expected with 15w Qi. Vibrates a little probably because it stands quite high from the dash/vent, but will not impair viewing of a map.

Love this car phone charger, really secure in the vent of my Ford and has a strong magnet which paired with my ECR phone case holds up on really rough roads. It’s great to use with navigation as you can position the phone how you like in a prominent position. It charges the phone really quick as with previous wireless car holders I’ve had would not charge quicker than the navigation drains the battery, but not with this one! It comes with a USB C to USB C and a mount incase it doesn’t fit your vent but I had no issues.

I bought this on 25th March 2025, and it had lasted until now, 10th June 2026. The vent mount has been used for the whole duration of use, on the driver's side, to the right of the steering wheel, an ideal position for a right-handed driver. The mag charging works well, although is obviously not as quick as directly plugging in the USB-C cable straight into your phone from the fast charger in the 12volt slot (cigar lighter, if you're old school). The phone sits on the mount securely, and I don't think it has ever fallen off. However, today, I went to remove my phone from the magnet mount, and the whole magnet and square panel snapped off from the bracket in the vent. No amount of glue is going to fix it so I'm not going to try. So I can't say this has been value for money, because I expected it to last a lot longer than just over one year. I've ordered a different brand that supposedly has more metal content in it, so hopefully it might be stronger and last longer than this all-plastic car mount.

This item may work well for an iPhone but for a Samsung S25 ultra using a magsafe case this is terrible went out today in my work van gave it a test phone was on 91 percent it said fully charged in 51 minutes. So basically if the phone is empty this thing is supposed to take 8.5 hours to charge ? The sticky pad for mounting on a dashboard is garbage used the wipes supplied and it didn't stick can't really use the vents as on the new vivaro vans they are low down and the phone blocks the radio Never had issues with ESR stuff and used them a lot but this item was disappointing I used a magsafe case and the phone supports QI2 also a usb c to usb c with a 30w in car charger

Easy to use and to attach. Holds onto the vent really well and doesnt come off on bumpy roads. Magnet is very strong and it holds Iphone 16 pro max without a problem. Happy with the purchase.

I previously had the previous version of ESR wireless car charger and the only real issue I had with that was that the phone would sometimes move when I was driving. With the new QI charger the magnets are super strong and seem to be as strong as my MagSafe charger. The phone barely moves when driving and stays stable for when I need to use maps change music etc. all in all I’m very impressed with the performance of this product compared with the previous iterations.

The ESR CAR Vent MagSafe Charger is overall a fantastic product. It’s sturdy, stable, and keeps my phone secure even on bumpy roads. The quick charging feature is excellent—charging my phone rapidly with minimal or no heating, which is perfect for long drives. I appreciate its flexibility, as it can be placed on either vent, including the passenger side, and the 360-degree rotation makes adjusting the viewing angle effortless. However, I do wish there were some metal components to reinforce the build. The plastic parts that attach to the vents are fine, but a bit of metal would ensure they don’t warp over time. Overall, it’s a solid and reliable charger with room for a little improvement in durability. Highly recommend for its performance and functionality

Ich habe das ESR MagSafe Autoladegerät jetzt seit einigen Wochen in Gebrauch und bin insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Hier ist meine ausführliche Bewertung basierend auf meinen Erfahrungen: Verpackung und Lieferumfang: Die Verpackung war sicher und gut durchdacht, allerdings wurde etwas viel Papier und Plastik verwendet. Im Lieferumfang war alles enthalten, wie beschrieben: MagSafe-Ladegerät, Lüftungsclip, Armaturenbrettanker, USB-C-Kabel und ein USB-C-Adapter. Der Adapter war besonders praktisch, da ich das Kabel so auch an einem bestehenden USB-Anschluss nutzen konnte. Ein Autoladeadapter war nicht im Lieferumfang, aber das war für mich kein Problem, da ich diesen bereits hatte. Installation und Montage: Ich habe die Lüftungshalterung verwendet, da sie mein Handy im Sommer kühl hält, besonders während der Navigation. Die Montage war sehr einfach und intuitiv: Schraube kurz lösen, Halterung einspannen, Schraube anziehen, und dann die Klemme an der Lüftung befestigen – ähnlich wie eine Wäscheklammer. Die Lüftungshalterung war stabil und hat durch den rutschfesten Gummi sowie eine zusätzliche Stütze einen sicheren Halt. Besonders gut: Die Stütze sorgt dafür, dass die Lüftungsöffnung selbst nicht zu stark belastet wird. Ladegeschwindigkeit und Kompatibilität: Das Schnellladen funktioniert gut, allerdings ist die Ladegeschwindigkeit bei induktiven Ladegeräten naturgemäß etwas langsamer als bei direktem Kabelanschluss. Für den Alltag reicht es jedoch vollkommen aus. Ich konnte mein iPhone 14 mit einer MagSafe-kompatiblen Hülle problemlos laden, auch auf unebenen Straßen hält der Magnet das Handy sicher. Benutzerfreundlichkeit: Der Wechsel zwischen Hoch- und Querformat ist einfach, da das Handy direkt gedreht werden kann. Die Positionierung an der Lüftungshalterung ist für die Navigation optimal, und die kabellose Ladefunktion spart Kabelsalat. Allerdings würde ich empfehlen, die Halterung nicht regelmäßig über das Gelenk zu drehen, da das Nachjustieren der Schraube etwas mühsam ist. Verarbeitung und Qualität: Das Produkt wirkt hochwertig, von den robusten Plastikkomponenten bis zur stylischen Ladefläche. Es gibt keine wackeligen Teile, und die Magnethalterung ist beeindruckend stark. Ein kleiner Verbesserungspunkt wäre das Gewinde am Gelenk, das sich besser fixieren lassen könnte. Fazit: Das ESR MagSafe Autoladegerät ist ein durchdachtes und zuverlässiges Produkt, das im Alltag viele Vorteile bietet. Besonders die starke Magnethalterung und die einfache Handhabung haben mich überzeugt. Für den Preis von etwa 27 Euro ist die Leistung und Qualität absolut angemessen. Ich habe das Gerät bereits ein zweites Mal gekauft und kann es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen
