After the tank is cleaned and clear, can you leave the pump and Light on as your primary filter?

I do. I put this product into the greenest water ever. It did take 10 days….but on the 10th day the tank was clear. All I do is wash the filter weekly.

how often should I replace filter?

Six months to a year replacement is fine. You can purchase some other filter material to fill it. Specialized filter wool will also be released soon

What is the wattage of the UV bulb?

The UV lamp it's 8W, you can purchase a 7W or 5W as a replacement bulb.

What is very easy to put together so far?It's working well

I had a previous version of this and bought a second so called improved. The UV light is difficult to get in place, the bottom of it, which you are blindly putting in, and has to be exactly in the right spot. The sponge filter will need regular cleaning so clumsiness of this is a regular inconvenience. The friction fit of the top to the bottom means you will need to carefully arrange this in the tank or the bottom could fall off? The inlet for the air hose is again a friction fit, and so loose it does not stay in place. And lastly, the air hose they provided is so flimsy it's got kinks, and pinches in it even from shipping. It was frustrating to put together so from an ongoing maintenance point of view it's just not usable IMHO.

Very strong, so be careful where u place it in the tank. Other than that, it's great. Been using it for about 5 months. Easy to clean, comparatively speaking. Does a good job, and the UV does keep the bio residue down. I have a 40 gallon tank and I was finding that some were not oxygenating very good and I would end up with a gross tank. This works well.

Did exactly what I needed it to. The tank went into a bloom while we were away and the house sitter wasn’t knowledgeable enough to deal with it. We got home on a Monday, this was delivered Wednesday and by Saturday with 1 25% water change it was crystal clear again. Now it’s off and ready for the next battle
