Midea MERC07C4BAWW Cubic Feet Chest Freezer, 7.0 Cu.ft-New, White

This convertible freezer has exceeded my expectations. It arrived in perfect condition. The packaging was sturdy and offered protection during transport. I allowed it to sit for two days before I plugged it in. Placed a jug of water to check for freezing speed. Was frozen solid within hours. Moved my food items in and have been pleased with the performance. Super quiet operation too.

I upgraded to this 7CF model from their 3.5 cf model. Everything worked as advertised, and it's been on a month without issues. Did have a one time strange occurrence at the start. I had closed the lid and when I came back a few hours later to get something it would not open. There is no mechanical latch. Even using my he-man strength I could not get the lid up. Finally I did by using slightly more lift in one corner. But I tell ya I was ready to call for support. But after that, although the lid seals nicely, I haven't had issues opening it. Note that my review is for the 1st month of operation - not a long term review. By the way, the lid light is a nice touch over the 3.5 CF model which does not have one.

Update: It’s now been 38 days since I was told I would receive a refund. No refund and they aren’t responding to me anymore. Do not buy from this company. Horrible customer service and you’re left with products that don’t work. Update: The reviewed my case and said I would receive a refund in 14-21 days. It’s been past that time so I contacted again and received the same message back. Congratulations! You’ve been approved for a refund. You will receive it in 14-21 days. I highly doubt that will ever come at this point. Do not buy from this company. Horrible service. Update: I contacted the manufacturer customer service they filed a case (so I thought). I was told they would let me know a resolution within 24 hours. I called 3 days later to check up on said resolution and they had no record of my case. Refiled a case, resubmitted proof of it not working. She said they would get back to me soon. It’s now 2.5 days later and still no resolution. Horrible customer service. I would not buy another Midea product. Purchased in December and it’s pretty dented up. I expected that from the reviews, I don’t partially care about that. What I do care about is that it’s now June and it no longer works. So barely 6 months.

It's working ok.... I should have looked it over better when I unpacked it. It's dented all over. Like a scratch and dent sale item. Oh well. Screw me....

Good value for a sturdy durable freezer. The freezer is quite and set up was easy. Sometimes the lid seal requires muscle strength to open, but this is not on everytime. I would recommend if looking for some extra freezer storage space.

The freezer works like a charm so far. It's very quiet, and aside from a barely perceptible click when the compressor turns on you wouldn't even know it was running. Great size too. Turns out 7 cubic feet is quite a lot of space while still fitting smoothly in the kitchen. The only problem I have is with the delivery. UPS left it outside of my apartment building and didn't bother reading delivery instructions, which said that I wanted it brought to apartment unit cause it's fairly heavy and bulky, or even bringing it inside the building door. Just left it outside for anyone to steal, and I wasn't able to bring it in until several hours later cause I was busy. Product: FIVE STARS, delivery: ZERO STARS.

This chest freezer is exactly what I needed for extra food storage. It has plenty of space, cools quickly, and runs quietly. The removable basket makes it easy to organize smaller items, and the interior light is a nice touch. Great quality and perfect for a home, apartment, or garage.
