I am so happy to find the "original" Throat Coat tea with slippery elm. It's wonderful even without any sweetner and I feel so much better afterwards. Always in my arsenal for self vocal care as a singer and VO.

Wonderful tea for musicians!

I've been using the throat coat tea since I was a teenager, and I'm 28 now. It's got a nice, natural sweetness to it and the flavor is pleasantly light. I don't know how to describe it, maybe like someone yelled "licorice" in another room while I was drinking herbal tea. The smell is very similar to the flavor. I drink a cup of this every night since I have dry mouth/throat due to lupus. It helps coat my throat and mouth, preventing dryness and irritation. The natural sweetness I mentioned before makes any type of sugar, honey, etc unnecessary. When I'm sick with strep or other throat ailments, I add some manuka honey and it's like a magic elixir for my ouchies. Tl;dr: I love this tea!

Really all you need to know is that it tasts great and better yet - it works! And I don't just save it for when I have a sore throat: I do a lot of public speaking and 2 cups of this tea in the morning and I am no longer clearing my throat or experiencing a stratchy throat. I don't know if it's the slippery elm or the licorice, but the combonation work. I do not go without this tea year round. I even keep a few individually sealed bags with me for work or meetings. It's hard to find a tea that is not only medicinal, but tasts good as well. Very comforting tea for sure. Something I look forward to at night as well.

Works great for sore throat

“It will save your life,” I tell skeptical sickies. Once those lives are thus saved, they always admit that I was right despite their doubts. I used to import this tea by ordering large quantities of small boxes because it was the only option. To say that I love this bigger box would be an understatement. Throat a bit dry? Drink it. On your deathbed? Drink up. Just looking for an herbal soother? Have a cuppa. It’s sweet, which might surprise you at first, what with my not having a sweet tooth and yet recommending this so strongly that I would shove it in your face if I could. But that sweetness will grow on you, once you experience its life-saving qualities for yourself. Buy it for self and your sick friends/kids/lovers.
