Very sturdy gates but they do need a lot of work (sanding and repairing gaps) to make them usable. We also didn't realise just how heavy they were going to be. We have decided to paint ours, so hopefully they will look better once painted.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I want to save people time: my experience with this product hasn't been good. Not worth the cost and effort. One panel had a pretty big knot in the top as part of the curve - which didn'tmake sense to me - that later fell off, one panel was damp and had what looked like salt on it (not in the timber world so unsure if that's a drying technique or someone just got too close and liberal with the salt shaker at lunch). The panels are an unfinished surface and quite rough, screws and nails were poking through the panels that hadn't reached the frame and, as others have commented, the curved top is an after thought with an unfinished look and sharp edges. The frame is actually good quality timber, and I'm being picky now, but the stamps were placed showing, they could be placed down towards the panels to give a nicer appearance. A basic quality control check before despatch would have solved most of these issues. Delivered on the 11th of Aug and contacted the seller the same day. Now the 14th no response to my email to discuss the issues raised.

This gate is extremely well built, a very sturdy solid quality item at a great price. Have started to put this in situ and am very pleased with the purchase.

It’s cheap - that’s the only good news. But in exchange you get a poorly made gate with splintered wood and that is held together with screws that have to bridge gaps between the solid members. Also, and I didn’t realise this until after purchase, the bracing is is what is called universal. This means that the manufacturer can sell the gate for left or right hand hinges. This makes it easy to build and produce, but it means that for the customer, you are not getting the best support. Ideally, the diagonal bracing members should be parallel to each other, running from low at the hinge side and high on the other side, and not come together at the mid point. The way this gate has been made makes it more likely to droop after a few years.

Advert says the seller will contact you to arrange a delivery slot. This simply isn't true. I received no communication from the seller. The delivery company text me on a Friday to say they would deliver on the Monday. This was the final day of the delivery window, there had been no communication prior to that. Purchased on 6.1.25, text received 17.1.25 and delivered 20.1.25. Gate is heavy and seems sturdy, however there was some damage to the side of the gate, and some of the panels seem not best quality due to knots and colour etc. I worry water will get in and cause problems. However, I was desperate for a new gate and issues seem minor enough to not warrant the hassle or arranging a return.
