Good product
I used this on my woods stove pipe and the surfaces of the stove that were showing some rust. I used a wire brush first and then sprayed this on. It worked great, but make sure you have all the windows open on the first burn after using this paint. Also you need a windy day for the first day too.

Rust-Oleum 248903 High Heat Spray—Durable Protection for Brake Discs
I applied Rust-Oleum 248903 Automotive High Heat spray to the brake discs of my car. The paint was easy to use and gave a nice, even black matte finish. It dried quickly and adhered well to thoroughly cleaned metal. After several weeks, the treated areas remain rust-free despite exposure to heat, moisture, and road conditions. Rust Oleum hight heat is great for protecting and improving the appearance of brake discs on non-contact surfaces. It resists high temperatures and maintains its protective and aesthetic qualities

More gray than black..
It doesn't dry black. It dries a dark gray. It darkens slightly after heating, but never achieves actual black. Think more charcoal. Attempting to get a reasonable reply after asking a question to anything remotely automotive or decorative when it comes to maintenance or rugged use on here is really rough. A question asking about the actual drying color of the paint got back immediate replies stating it to be black, and not answering my question. Thought this might help.. It isn't a bad color, but not quite what I needed, as I was trying to color match some motorcycle pipes that already had older paint on them.. Which is admittedly a tough call. This isn't too far off, as that paint has too grayed a little. Paint adhesion after heating seems actually pretty good. Better than I was expecting considering some of the reviews saying how delicate it is. Nozzle semi-blocked permanently for second use, causing drips. Thinner wouldn't move it.. Next time, I'll remove the nozzle between sprays and put it straight into thinner. Used effectively to spray a chimney cap to hopefully make it less interesting to birds than the bright steel surface. Cleaned and lightly scuffed, and cleaned the surface again.. The end result was a really very nice matte finish. Again, nowhere near black. A charcoal dark gray. The stuff dries incredibly fast. When applied to a larger surface I can see how the paint rubs off more than the small test piece I did. It's going to bake to all hell on the roof, so I imagine it'll get a good chance to cure. Might follow up with some pictures next spring of how it's fairing.

Top-Notch Quality That Stands Up to Serious Heat
I’ve used a few high-heat paints before, but Rust-Oleum’s 248903 is by far the best quality spray paint I’ve found for automotive parts. I used it on my exhaust manifold, and it handled the intense heat like a champ—no peeling, cracking, or fading even after weeks of heavy use. The finish is smooth and professional-looking, with a rich flat black that doesn’t look cheap or flaky. Application was easy, too—the spray came out evenly with no annoying drips or clumps, which can be a problem with lesser brands. What really impressed me is how durable the coating feels. This isn’t just paint; it’s like a tough ceramic shield that keeps my parts protected from heat, oil, and grime. It definitely gives me peace of mind knowing my engine components are covered by something that can really take the heat. If you want a high-heat paint that delivers on quality and longevity, this Rust-Oleum is worth every penny.

Stunning Results — My Fireplace Looks Factory-New!
I replaced the pilot, vacuumed and cleaned the entire fireplace, and added Skyflame Glowing Embers Rock Wool with Vermiculite. Then I used Rust-Oleum 248903 Automotive High Heat Spray Paint (Flat Black) to refresh a few faded metal spots — and wow, the results are stunning! The finish looks professional, heat-resistant, and brought the whole fireplace back to life. Highly recommend this combo if you want your natural gas fireplace to look brand new again.

Great paint, top it off with the high heat clearcoat too
Great paint, used it on my moped for a rusty expansion chamber. Pair this with the high gloss clear coat and you'll have a durable finish. Definitely prep the surface correctly for best results, I used a wire wheel on a drill along with some 80 grit sandpaper for hard to reach areas. Took a before and after picture of my exhaust. 👍👍 (Definitely get the clear coat high temperature to go over this paint if you want a glossy finish)

Restored a Wood Stove
Made my old 1987 Avalon wood burning stove insert look like new again. I like how flat matte the paint is and that it dries super fast which made the job little quicker.
