DOES NOT COME WITH PROPANE TANK. Works very well. Reliable. Just what I need in an emergency. I bought the single flame to conserve on fuel. In my experience there are a very reliable, economic 'cheap' way to have lighting in an emergency. This lantern can also hook up to a 5 gallon BBQ tank' using an extension hose. The lantern is plenty bright. If indoors always crack a window to the outside so Co2 build up. Stay safe.

Build quality was pretty alright. Not really cheap or anything. My issue with it was that it just wasnt all that bright. Best to spend a few extra and get a multi mantle lantern. Something with a stand and case. But if your limited on space and can put this somewhere it dosent get broken it could still be a good buy.

This is a small one mantle lantern which runs on propane. We hook it up to a gas bottle like one might use for a gas grill. One mantle lamp is hard to find but we use it for heat to keep a small green house above freezing. Two mantles would use more gas so the one mantle saves money on gas. For our purpose, the one mantle provides enough heat to keep the plants from freezing. The lantern is well made, mantles fit it and glass replacement shades are available in case you break it.

I have several of these lanterns. Have used them on many kayak trips where weight is an issue. They are light and compact. We would run the lantern on its lowest setting when we went to sleep, let it burn all night long. After several nights like so, we never did have to change the propane tank. Provided enough light to see on low. They simply work.

Was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it works great. I prefer a single mantle lantern and this one definitely fits the bill. It is a hard item to find. Glad I seen this one.

This item clearly shows a tip resistant base and the base is described in the bullet points. I did not receive any base at all. This is not like amazon to show and describe an item so poorly. This item actually becomes a very hazardous without a base as the base on a propane cylinder is not very big. I would like amazon to provide me with one but I am having a problem in contacting anyone at amazon.

I bought the single and the double mantle versions of this product and my single is brighter than the double for some reason. The trick with these is lighting it through the tiny hole without the match going out. Had luck with a bic lighter instead. The irony is that you essentially need another light in order to see the hole location so that you can turn this light on. Again, a bic lighter works nice because it provides enough light to see the hole. Mantles are ridiculously fragile so plan to buy a load of extras or you will be out of luck in the middle of the woods. I also bought an LED version by another maker and it's so much easier. You can turn that one on with your eyes closed. I feel like this propane style is for old timers.

solo porque tengo un enorme amor y fijación por este tipo de lamparas, este modelo lo quise agregar a mi pequeña colección de lamparas de "manto" y me decepcionó totalmente la calidad de los acabados y materiales que contenía vidrio irregular, tapa mal ajustada y colgante que topa en el vidrio, solo la válvula parece tener buena calidad, una verdadera lastima, por que la luz de estos equipos es bellísima.

It throws a decent light for its size. And is well made.
