SAILINGSTORY Wooden Model Ship US Coast Guard Eagle Barque Small

These are amazing ships! I started just wanting 1 for my fireplace mantle. When I received the "large" model of the USS Constitution, I was stunned at the beauty and quality. This ship is gorgeous! I can't see how they can sell these at those prices. The rigging alone was worth the money all by itself. (very detailed) I highly recommend these ships. I am not kidding. These boats are so beautiful and inexpensive I had to start a collection. I already purchased THREE more. And they are all equally beautiful. I plan to keep expanding my collection as new models become available. I already have my eye on the "Cutty Sark". Here is the icing on the cake. I needed some help with an order. Their customer service responded right away with solutions that exceeded my expectations. That is solid piece of mind when considering future orders. Thanks Sailingstory

So wonderful! Exactly what I wanted!

My older brother, USCG, he was very pleased with my gift.

I love ships and nautical items, and I wanted something for my New York harbor section. This ship is the USCG Eagle (alt. Barque Eagle) that is used for officer training by Academy cadets. I've been lucky enough to see it a few times in person and wanted a model of it. Quality wise, the model is great for the price. Obviously not bespoke quality or anything, but as an out of the box assembled model it's fairly accurate, and looks great from a distance. It arrived undamaged, and overall I think looks great. My only two minor gripes: The anchor and chains are shiny black cheap metal and look... Very bad. I will probably paint these to make it a little less garish, but not the end of the world. The biggest gripe I have is the plaque under the ship reads U.S Coast Guard rather than the ship name. Clearly it is a USCG ship based on the hull livery, and why they chose to manufacture this with the Branch and not the vessel name is annoying to me. I sincerely wish this would read Barque Eagle or USGC Eagle at the very least. Ironically the other tall ship, the Amerigo Vespucci, has the proper vessel name plate instead of Italian Navy, which it belongs to. (For any wondering why this is in my New York exhibit, the Vespucci also has traveled to new york waters frequently and is seen in the Harbor, as it is also a tall ship training vessel for Italian Navy cadets) So, clearly they can produce a ship with the proper name plate, and I would have liked to see this on the Eagle as well. Altogether though, 4/5 stars and I think for the price the quality is acceptable!

This is a well made model of this famous ship and a proud addition to my study.
