Yardley English Lavender by Yardley of London for Women Eau De Toilette Spray, 4.2 Ounce

Perfect, original wonderful Yardley scent.

Its hard to believe this is not for sale for $100 or more. I can see why people would be expecting it to smell like soap or lavender oils (since there is not just one type of lavender flower) because it is Yardley. I love analyzing smells against the BaseNotes website, and I think this fragrance has a slightly alcohol scent in the bottle, but transforms once it is sprayed. There is definitely a strong Chanel #5 rose/aldehydes smell from beginning to end of being sprayed on, but there is also that woodsy/earthy bouquet that is melded into this one that will remind you of the best parts of Aromatics Elixir. For the price, I was thoroughly impressed. Will be buying this for other people.

I wanted something soft, feminine, and light for the summer months, and I remembered Yardley's Old English Lavender Soap from many years ago. I could not find it in stores locally, so of course I checked Amazon. I was delighted to find the soap, and I was even more delighted to find the Eau de Toilette, which I had not used before. It arrived yesterday, and I spritzed it on after my evening bath with the soap. I am very pleased with this purchase. The fragrance is just as I remember it from thirty or more years ago. It is very soft, very feminine, and very light. This is not a scent that will overpower you or anyone around you. The sillage is perhaps one to two feet. The scent is not very long lasting (it had disappeared by morning), but it is very pleasant for a few hours, especially if you apply it liberally. If you apply it in the a.m., you will probably want to reapply it after lunch. If you apply it before bed, it will get you through the night just fine. I gave it four out of five stars because it is not long lasting. Yardley Old English Lavender is such a wonderfully simple, gentle, sweet, and demure scent. If only more things in life could be so nice and so uncomplicated.

I'm suddenly a fan of any product that has a lavender fragrance. This spray did not disappoint me.

Dear Yardley: You may have been "trusted for generation" but not any longer, for you have deceived your customers by pulling a 'fast one' on them. You changed your English Lavender scent without warning! It is, absolutely, no longer the light, natural and fresh scent of lavender you have provided for decades! I am so disgusted! I ordered a bottle via Amazon and was in shock by the phony, over-powering smell. It is so strong it smelled through the cardboard shipping box! At first I thought the box picked up the strong & unfamiliar scent from the factory, until I opened the bottle. It is no longer a clear spray, but purple in color with a different 'look' to the bottle, let alone a completely different scent. I am sending it back as I cannot tolerate the phony smell. I shopped around a bit more and found another "Yardley English Lavender" perfume that depicts the original look of the spray bottle (as shown here in Amazon)....the one I've been buying for 30 years. So, I figured there must be 2 different lavenders(?) and I ordered what was shown in the picture. Now I have a gold color spray, again with a strong and very different scent than the original Yardley English Lavender, (even different scent than the 1st bottle of the phony knockoff) and with a totally different look than what is depicted in the picture. Now I have to send this one back as well. Shame on you! I found another brand, through another very dissatisfied customer, that still has the fresh and natural scent of lavender. As far as I'm concerned, the name Yardley is synonymous with deception! I hope your hopeful-money-making scheme fails and you lose many of your 'original' lavender-loving customers. I posted a photo of both bottles I received. Notice how different it is from the one shown in Amazon..

I bought the Yardley Lavender spray hoping it was the same I knew years ago. The scent is different I find it hard to smell the lavender in this fragrance. But, it is a nice fragrance.

Really like this body mist. Scent is light and clean. Layering with English Lavender Soap makes the scent last longer. Good size bottle.

I used Yardley English Lavender Body Spray since I was 16 and throughout my young adulthood, but stopped ever since the scent was no longer the same. Then recently, I saw this Yardley English Lavender Fragrance Mist and decided to give it a try. When my 1st bottle arrived, the scent was nothing like the good old English lavender I remember, so I wanted to return it, but there's alcohol thus item was non-returnable. Since I can't return, I gave it another chance and tried for awhile. Surprisingly, the scent came out very pleasant when I used it on my body, and it was more of a white musk scent with a little tiny hint of Lavender. It started to grow on me, plus it doesn't give me a headache. One time, I was reaching over my shoulder in the car and smelled something great and asked if my husband was wearing perfume, but he said no. Then I realized it was my own body mist. The scent subtly lasts very long and I feel confident for the whole day. I usually spray the body mist on my underarms and neck, and it doesn't burn, sting nor irritate my skin. Now I'm on my 2nd bottle (with the new packaging) and am still happy with it.

Ich ergänze das Puder aus der selben Serie mit dem Lavender Spray. Der Duft ist der gleiche. Der Sprühkopf lässt sich gut bedienen, das Spray ist sehr ergiebig.

Use to scent my body ... wonderful!!?

Love this body spray. It does have a slight chemical smell when first applied but this goes. Essential oils are mixed with alcohol which evaporates when applied. It's not over powering and once warmed on the skin smells amazing
