Punchy, rich sound.
Pros Punchy, dynamic sound - easily the most immediate-sounding Sennheisers I have tried. Excellent, crisp sound clarity across the entire frequency spectrum. The lows in particular have a rich, sonorous quality. Definite emphasis on low-end but without overwhelming the mids & highs - kick drums and bass tones really cut through the mix nicely, which is probably why they are so popular with DJ’s. There is an exceptional amount of detail in the overall soundstage. So much so I have pretty much abandoned my AKG reference headphones which were double the price but simply don’t compare to the listening experience of the HD-25’s. They are addictively good. Comfortable ear pads and headband with great flexibility due to the split option. The ear pads don’t have to be sat perfectly on your ears to carry the sound fully which is superb. They feel light and unobtrusive on your head. Cons Cable is a tad short. Cable is a little rigid due to its rectangular, dual shape and keeps kinking in places due to how it has been folded. A circular or coiled cable would be so much better. Single-sided cable comes from the RH side - given that these are designed for DJ’ing that is not ideal for right-handed people. P.S. The way to tell which side is which (as they aren’t marked) is the visible red wire and RED = RIGHT. Summary These are dynamic, functional headphones specifically targeted at DJ’s. I wouldn’t recommend them for music production or studio work as they are not especially neutral, the cable is too short and they pinch a little after a few hours use. But for DJ’ing and general listening they are absolutely superb and I can’t imagine a superior alternative.

All hail the Sennheiser HD25s!
I purchased a pair of Technics 1200 turntables last year, but unfortunately went on to make the mistake of not buying a quality pair of headphones to accompany them. Instead I persevered with some cheapo, generic ones I had lying around, and after a few months I started to wonder why I was still struggling with my manual beat matching skills. “Surely I should be improving a bit more by now! I mean it’s been a few months now, come on! blah blah blah!”. The typical kind of whining one does to themselves. Anyway, to cut a long story short, and after speaking to someone who’d been DJ’ing since the 90s. My beat matching problems were being exacerbated due to my cheapo headphones muddying all the lows, mids, and high frequencies into one big, indistinguishable, jumbled audio soup. I was struggling to differentiate the frequencies between the incoming and outgoing track, because everything was being muddied together. So, again after speaking to my DJ buddy and asking around on the internet. The general consensus was that the Sennheiser HD25s have been the go to headphones for DJ’ing since the 1990s for a reason, and… after taking the plunge and buying a pair, I quickly understood why this was the case. My only regret was not buying a pair much sooner, as I could have saved myself a few months of hardship. Oh well you live and learn! Anyway the comfort, clarity, value for money and robustness of these things, continue to elevate them head and shoulders above all other competitors on the market, even three decades on - now that’s some accomplishment! All hail the Sennheiser HD25s!

Unbelievable clarity and balance
My second pair of these, loved the first pair to death but it took nearly ten years of constant use and misuse in some cases. My new pair are fantastic, as comfortable as ever, and as a musician, I am once again overwhelmed by the clarity and tonal balance of these phones. They are quite remarkable with a good solid bass and a sweet top end that is clear but not harsh. Yes, they are a bit pricey but you have to pay for top quality and I'm not complaining at all as some more expensive items have not stood up to the price like these do. If you want a real awesome musical experience then buy these and you will have no regrets.

Really good headphones
Delivered fast by Amazon which was great as I had snapped my Pioneer ones and needed these in a hurry for my DJ gig. The seem durable lightweight and good quality, time will tell if they last or not, in my opinion all headphone snap its just a matter of when, my friend has had a pair of these over 10 years and still look tip top condition So money wise id say its really good for the price. Not really any noise cancellation with these as they just sit on top of your ears and not cup over them. With been a dj I can mix very easily with these I can hear all the highs and low frequencys and sound great. Buy them

Great sound, durability, lightweight comfort from a classic
I use this as part of a lightweight durable audio set up with a bluetooth dac/amp. It has clear, well balanced and punchy sound, is very efficient so my phone headphone socket gets it very loud with room to raise the volume higher. It feels very robust and the design is very impressive. The clamp force is stronger than I expected yet it feels very comfortable, I can wear it for a few hours without problem. I think its very good value for money, this is the type of headphone that, unless you lose it you'll only need to buy once. I'm very pleased with it. The store Bop DJ delivered it very quickly and the headphone was in genuine Sennheiser packaging and in perfect condition.

Brilliant - apart from one listing error
Excellent headphones for mixing vinyl/cd's/usb stick with The only reason I gave it 4 starts is because it says the cable is 10'/3m long - it is actually 1.5m long, so if you want a 10'/3m cable, you'll have to buy the cable separately and keep the 1.5m cable as a spare

Durable and decent sound quality
I got these for use in and office to silence out my coworkers and they work very well, I much prefer these over my Beats Studio 3 ( work issued) headphones. I also like the face that all the parts are user replaceable.

Best DJ headphones on the market
Just had to retire my old pair after more than 10 years worth of use and in the go with them all the time. They are comfortable, sound is clear and lightweight

Great bass for an inexpensive headphone
Although the cups are a little small in my view, the bass delivery did not disappoint. Good clarify of the mids and highs as well. Certainly value for money.
