Great for living on a pond or lake.
This large solar powered buoy is a great depth marker or just a unique placement in your pond or lake. I love how it's solar powered so it is maintenance free. Just put it in the water and at night time it will glow in a bright vivid green color without power. It wouldn't be smart to run power into the water anyway! Lol. I also think that this is a cool piece to have in your pool for parties. I love the bright green color, you can't miss it. It's made of a very strong and sturdy material and will last a very long time in the water. It is also easy to see in the daytime, you could use it to Mark a certain distance out before drop offs or a marker to park jet skis or boats. The uses are basically up to your imagination.

Great Marker Buoy!
The media could not be loaded. This is a very nice solar powered marker buoy. As I stated in the video make certain you check your local regulations about placing buoys in your local waters. You may need a permit. If you just put it out and leave it the DNR may just confiscate it and at $260 dollars for this you don’t want that to happen. As I noted in the video it took me quite awhile to get the solar engine threaded properly into the buoy. The threads on both the solar engine and buoy are both plastic and I think some rough edges were left after manufacturing so it just wanted to cross thread. Make sure you use patience in getting it started properly. If you do not and force it to cross thread it will leak water in and won’t last very long. I think brass thread rings in both pieces would fix this issue. The bottom threads where you bolt in the D ring for anchoring has brass thread inserts so they could have done the same throughout and for the price I feel they should have.I feel if this was more of an egg shape rather than a flat bottom it would eliminate any tendency to tip in heavy waves. But the instruction tells you if anchored properly tipping over should not be an issue. I will find this out after some real world experience. If a problem exists I will edit this review. This is highly visible and it does last through the night. I had it out for three days and nights and it was still strongly lit at pre dawn every morning. The above photo was taken about 3/4 of a city block away just after dusk. It was brighter and more clearly visible than the photo shows. I will also note we did not have bright sunny days during that time so the quality of the solar panel is excellent. There are many uses for this buoy. Mainly to mark a floating swimming platform that may be anchored several yards out from your regular dock. Also if you have a large rock that must be avoided when approaching your dock you can mark its location with this. Or to simply mark your landing if you have visitors coming by boat and need to know which dock is yours. These come in various colors and are easily large enough to be seen from a good distance. I can’t help but feel these might be a bit over priced but still remain a good value. Besides these are American made by a small business and to me that’s always worth the extra cost.

Lightweight
The solar powered buoy is surprisingly light for the size. It works well and stays very bright after being put in sunlight.
