I have been very disappointed with the new crops of children's books I found in the library and reading requirements from school. until I found Enid Bylton 's children's books. I bought the Famous 5 and Naughtiest Girl! My little girl is completely charmed by the books! It is such a shamed that entire Long Island library system do not have any of these wonderful children's books! When your 7 years old asked to read just another page please, it felt good. Granted the books are published 70+years ago, and some of the stuff is a little out dated, like my Little one have no idea what a Gramophone is, so we had fun looking it up and find on YouTube how the thing works! Yes, over the summer, my little one finished one of the Famous 5 and one of the Naughtiest Girl! She loves them! We draw the main characters in the book, and she found out that how I imagine the characters and how she imagined is different, makes her think! I especially love the messages and morals of the stories I like my child to learn! Granted it is not the most diverse in physical character, but the personalities are!

What is interesting is that it is a good book and fun, but not exactly modern. The parents want to teach their wealthy, naughty child how to be a good girl and nice to others. She is an only child and a spoilt brat and her parents think she needs to be around other children and learn how to get along with others at a boarding school for girls. She is very attractive and has a good brain and they want her "To work hard, get good grades, be obedient, share with other children, be quiet, clean, have good manners..." At this, one thinks that this is not a modern idea of children. You may wish that more children were like this, but today's way of thinking of children is quite different. Manners? Quiet? Obedient? Work hard? Anyway, it's one way of looking at raising children back in the '40's and 1950's. And you can spend time with some different values for children for a while in this fun and interesting period book.

I recommend this book for young readers like me (ten year old). The story is very interesting, can’t wait to start book 2

I have introduced my 7 year old to her books and she loves reading about the Naughtiest girl! When she done with this boxset, I will purchase the other Enid Blyton boxset, and I can't wait for her to start reading about The Famous Five!🤩

I didn't hate it but is was not an awesome book I'll give About three stars to this book but if you do like things like Junie B jones then don't hesitate to read it!!!!!!!

The Faraway Tree and the Naughtiest Girl series were the only Enid Blyton books I'd ever enjoyed as a child and felt like a comfy read when I discovered these books were still available - and to my surprise, being read by a new generation! I admit that I had few hopes when I got this book to read on Kindle. After all, ENID BLYTON????! However, I enjoyed it. The book is beautifully written and although it's out of date and probably politcally incorrect, I still liked reading it. One niggle was that the modern editing was faulty - eg, the girls are apparently allowed to go to the pictures once a week, but on TWO POUNDS a week pocket money?? Also, Poor Elizabeth hands over her term's money, totalling eight quid but will get £2 a week back and she's bitterly disapointed! They should take more care with this kind of thing! All in all, a big nostalgic hit for me. I imagine that modern children will enjoy it, too - although quite how they could possibly relate to a ten-year-old going away to school is a mystery.

I got the kindle edition. My 6 year old was glued to it for couple of weeks. It’s a big book with 24 chapters. But it is easy to read. And she became a fan of main character in the book. In short it’s a great book. I wished the book would have few more pictures.

Lief alles super und problemlos. immer wieder gerne , sehr empfehlenswert. Das Set war in einem einwandfreien Zustand und das Lesen war eine echte Freude.
