Soundcore by Anker V30i Open-Ear Headphones
I LOVE these. I have bought so many pairs of headphones, trying to find the right pair. I have 6 different pairs that I have been swapping between. Over the ear, in ear buds / IEM's (my favorites), and open ear. These are my favorite open ear by far. Let me start by saying that ear buds are my preferred type of headphone, but I also have HORRIBLE (all year) seasonal allergies, so ear buds have started to cause a great deal of agitation inside of my ear canals. I also have stretched ear lobes (9/16), so a lot of headphones just don't sit right depending on what plugs I am wearing and they press into the sides of my head. These headphones solved both of those issues for me. Like others have said, these are so comfortable that you sometimes forget they are even on. The sound quality is good, more than enough in my opinion. I am not an audiophile by any means. I do prefer my IEM's as far as quality of sound goes, and of course open ear headphones won't sound as good as those when they are pressed right up into your ear drums (dramatic effect), but the sound on these is good, and the bass is good enough. I love that I can be jamming out at work and yet still hear someone approach me and not get the bejesus scared out of me. The quality of the actual headphones is good. They don't look or feel cheap, the magnet on the charging case stays closed as well (this is a bigger deal than one would think). My only (very) small issue is the touch controls are super sensitive. BUT thankfully with the app you can go in and shut those bad boys right off and not even have to deal with them. And speaking on that, these have been easy to connect to every bluetooth device I have tried, and the app is easy to install and use, it is super straightforward and you don't have to be tech savvy to figure it out. TLDR; I have allergies and stretched ears, these help alleviate the issues that come with both when wearing headphones. The sound is good, the bass is decent, and the fit is super comfortable. In my opinion, these are definitely worth the purchase. The quality is great, especially for the price point.

Really like it
One of my favorite bluetooth headphones. They fit comfortably without a big heavy battery attached to the bottom, they don't actually enter the ear (I've had some issues with ear infections and I realized it was due to how inside-earbuds gather skin, gunk, and sometimes, bacteria and it's really hard to clean. With these, it literally eliminates the problem. The sound quality is really really high compared to other ones I've tried. No, they aren't full ear-covering headphones, obviously, but these don't heat up like those do and they don't have that bar that covers your head and can get really gross too, so the benefits outweigh the cons. I use a set of these at home and a set for work. They work beautifully. I don't like being snuck up on at work when I'm focused so these allow me to clearly and easily hear what's behind me. The touch button that you can modify via app to pause the music works, though it took a bit of time to get used to touch rather than a physical button. I can always hear whose walking up behind me. I've tested to see how much sound bleeds out of the headphones and honestly, if you listen to a reasonable (safe) volume, there is very little that other people can hear. I sit right next to someone at a separate cubicle and our dividers don't hit the ceiling so all the sounds can travel over. No one can hear anything. I tested by playing "Never Gonna Give You Up" at a normal listening volume and my coworker didn't even flinch, so I knew for a fact that he couldn't hear it. You can modify the EQ via the app as well so it really helps cover for the fact that these are essentially just normal speakers you're holding very close to your ears instead of being isolated by ear buds. I get pretty good quality music and YT videos are perfectly fine. Gaming also works fine, even allowing the simulated directional audio to work. Never had an issue with the app, connecting them to my phone or home computer, or battery life issues. These last a VERY long time and I love that. Don't need to charge during my lunch or risk the last few hours of work being painfully quiet. Has yet to interrupt my gaming sessions with loud "BATTERY LOW" announcements. If you are a jogger, these hang onto your ears very well (personal experience may vary based on ear shape, of course). The hook around your ear is soft and has enough give to easily wrap around your ear and it doesn't irritate the skin there for me. A+ product. Anker has pretty much taken over my whole life. I have several phone powerbanks from them. My vertical computer mouse for home and work is from them. Now my headphones are from them. Amazing company with trust-worthy products that last a long time. No, I'm not paid nor offered anything for my review. I just really like dependable brands.

4.5 Stars...great value, a few minor issues
Typically a fan of Anker products having bought multiple earbuds, speakers, power banks over the years. I bought these specifically to work out so my feedback is based on that - Pros - great price, great sound, very secure fit...even when moving (running, jumping rope, etc), they are "over ear" so there is no piece that fits in the ear canal so they seem like they would flop around but they are suprisingly stable, responsive touch controls (set up in app), good battery life for head sets and case, easy set up out of the box Cons - case is BIG (LOL)...it makes sense given the size of the headphones but the case is really big...will fit in pocket (barely), touch controls are a bit sensitive...was wearing a thick hoodie and raising/ lowering it rubbed against the unit and activated the controls, range between phone and headphones is a bit weak (if you put your phone down and walk down the hall) Overall, these are great for my gym bag/ workout...I would definitely travel with them too. For the price, these are really good and I would rather buy these than pay 2x or 3x more for Be@ts that won't work much better or last much longer.

Happier than I thought I would be!
These are my first pair of open-ear headphones and it looks like I hit the nail on the head! I am no stranger to Anker and its product quality, so I decided to go with them again on a new product. First of all, even though I selected standard free delivery, they arrived the next day! I will keep them just for that level of customer service! I was a bit skeptical about their comfort at first, but then after wearing them for a few hours, and then falling asleep with them on, I was totally convinced of their comfort and durability. Yes, these are indeed "Ultra-Comfort and light weight". 5 stars there. Performance-wise, they sound very good, but you have to download the app in order to get the best performance out of them. In the app, you can change the sound types or even create your own sound preference with the built-in customizable equalizer. You also need the app to set (or change) the functionality of the touch functions on either earbud. They are plenty loud, but the bass could hit a little harder without losing the clarity. They offer an upgraded pair, Aerofit 2, that I am temped to purchase as well. The Aerofit 2 boasts about having better bass, so it has my attention! 5 stars there too. The app also offers a live language translation function. Free at first, but I'm sure a membership or subscription will be required in the near future. The app also offers audiobooks for those long airport waits as well as some soothing sleep sounds or white background noise to clear your head from a long, hard day at work (or from the kids!). 5 more stars. No connectivity issues yet, except you can't expect to go too far from your phone or source without experiencing some interruption. I went from my kitchen to my patio (straight line of sight) with no issues, but when I went further, about 100 more feet, I could hear the music going in and out. 4 stars (I guess). Overall, I wanted a pair of headphones that were very comfortable (I'm wearing both sides right now) that I could keep on all day that don't stick out from my ears making me look like a Star Trek character. They also had to sound good, allow me to hear my surrounding environment, and be easy to configure and use. These check all of the boxes! As I said, I am very tempted to purchase the next version which costs about twice as much at $80, but if they perform as well as these do WITH better bass, I may just give them a shot!

Ultra comfortable. Super secure. Average sound. Solid battery.
The sound is ok, and battery is good. Where they shine is complete comfort and a highly secure fit. They don't fall while jogging, biking, etc.., don't interfere with sunglasses, have physical and customizable controls, and let just a bit of environmental sounds through. The use case here is athletics and casual listening. Given the design, sound leakage is inherent and people near you in a quiet space will hear these. Conversely, you won't feel like you're in a sound chamber. Unfortunately, they're a bit large and don't work well with my ski/snowboard helmet. Great product, nonetheless.

Excellent Battery Life, Bass is Just Okay
Update (2/10/2024): I was able to squeeze some more base out of these today by a trick I recalled with the Life A2 NC when a pair of them had the same issue. Here is the process. So after connecting to the Soundcore app and updating the firmware, which I had done before my first review anyway, I reset the earbuds in the case today. There is a small button near the charging port. Hold that in until the light on the case turns red. Then reconnect the buds. Even with that though, and accounting that these are open-ear buds, the bass was just okay. It was certainly a noticeable improvement from before, but overall still muddy and not impressive. The depth of the soundstage is lacking. I listen to everything from hip hop to classical. It's really noticeable in classical music. Everything feels up front. There is no spacing and depth in the audio. An orchestra ought to sound and feel grandiose. On these it just doesn't. But as I said in my original review, the battery life is great, weight is very light, and they do vocals and everything above bass pretty well for the price. Yes the case is simple and can be slippery and fingerprint prone, but I don't care about that much. They do what I need them to do at the price point I wanted. Original (2/6/24): Pros: Lightweight. Long battery life. Excellent clarity with voices on calls or music. No worries about losing eartips or having wax clog the speakers. Nice audible tones for touch actions. Cons: Not much in the way of bass. Flat and somewhay shallow sound profile. Use with Soundcore app helps this a bit, especially with the Volume Enhancer option, but still does not truly add much compared to in-ear buds. Review: I work from home in a call center. I chose these for their light weight and battery life. I don't like being tethered to my desk by a wired headset, and wireless gaming headsets are bulky and expensive. They also don't hold up well over time. I have some excellent Soundcore earbuds thar are of the in-ear variety (Life A2 NC) which do all things very well but just don't have the battery life these do for use at work. So I'm often changing out pairs during a shift. Not good when you're busy with calls. Plus, recently I was sick and my ears were kinda plugged from that, so I decided that my in-ear buds needed a break. I decided on these as a much cheaper alternative to the new Aerofit line Soundcore put out. Being able to hear my surroundings better with these isn't necessarily a plus in a work context, but it's actually a wash anyway as I have my own office at home. These are good earbuds for a commute, for listening to a podcast, or taking calls casually or for work as I do. They handle vocals, highs, and mids well. But bass is lacking and the sound profile is not very rich or deep. So I can't recommend these for music much at all. I kind of expected that going in and, for my use case, it wasn't a deal breaker. Plus these are relatively cheap open-ear buds so use your common sense and don't buy the marketing hype. Good bass from small open-ear buds just isn't going to happen - at least not without paying a lot more. Tip: Don't jam these on your ears. They wear well but leave them just a tad loose at the front. It helps a lot, especially if you wear these for a while daily like I do.

Great Inexpensive headphones
I’ve been using these headphones for about a month now. These headphones are really good. Comfortable. I mainly use them for listening to audio books, but I was surprised how good the sound quality is. Used them for a few calls too and everybody says they can hear me clearly. Battery life is good too. Another great Ankee product.

Really impressed!!
I’ve wanted to try out some open ear buds for a while now but I was hesitant to spend too much when I wasn’t sure if I’d like them. I had been looking at the Anker AeroFit buds, but they were a bit more than I wanted to spend on earbuds I wasn’t sure would work for me. I considered getting a cheap $20 pair to try out before spending more, but when I found these, I decided to take the plunge. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations, not because of the brand (I love Anker, I have quite a few of their products), but just because of the nature of the device. I didn’t think the sound would be great with a tiny open air speaker, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I tried them. The sound is (for a non audiophile like me) pretty damn good! Good volume and good sound range. Certainly not the same quality as “proper” in ear buds, but if you’re like me and not a single pair of earbuds on this planet fit your ears, these are wonderful. I love that I still can hear the world around me too; I often only used one in ear bud before this because I disliked the complete noise isolation. It sort of felt like I had too much air pressure in my head, if that makes sense? I can use both of these and not have to worry about that at all. There’s a tiny amount of discomfort while wearing them since they press against different spots on my ears than I’m used to, but I’ve experienced this when trying new headphones before and it always fades. Otherwise, they’re very comfortable and stay in place very well. I’m more or less neutral on the touch controls, but that’s more my feeling in general for any buds. I really prefer physical buttons but I know the “future” is touch controls. That said, I do appreciate that I can use the app to change what the touch commands do. I’ve had a few accidental calls set off by holding one of my Liberty Air 2 buds just right to unknowingly trigger voice commands. So I like that I can turn that function off on these. (Yes, the Liberty Air 2 buds can also be reprogrammed, but controls revert to default if only using one bud, which I almost always did.) The one negative I have (which is fairly minor, imo) is that the charging case feels rather cheap, especially compared to the 3 other Anker buds I have. It’s very light and the lid doesn’t feel very sturdy. It feels more like what I’d expect from a cheap $20 pair of buds. The buds themselves feel good, but the case definitely lacks that same quality in comparison. Overall, I’m REALLY happy with these earbuds (earphones? Calling them buds doesn’t seem to fit ha). As always, Anker has made another banger of a product for those of us sitting comfortably on the slightly higher end of the budget range.

great customer service - great replacement product
like the way the headset sits on the ear. good price. works well once the phone is connected. However now my big issue - it pairs with two phones but one has to disconnect the headset from one phone before it can be used by the other phone (Bluetooth off or disconnect needed) it is not picking up which phone is active at the time. Update 3/9/24 after leaving my initial review the Anker customer support team contacted me, offering refund or replacement - which was a very pleasant surprise :-). The replacement product AeroFit offers the dual connection setup (for two phones) via the mobile phone app. For privacy reasons I have a work phone, and a private phone and the dual connection mode enable me to use the AeroFit earphones without switching/disconnecting in Bluetooth. Both the V30i and the AeroFit open ear earphones have great sound and battery life, charge fast and are comfortable to wear. For me the dual connection was the critical point and I'm very pleased with the Anker Soundcore team offering me the AeroFit earphones replacement option. Cheers Reinhard

Excellent sound quality and volume, with great spatial awareness.
I've tried out open ear buds before, and I've always found them lacking in sound quality and sound isolation. I have an Anker Soundcore Headset which I love (Q20i), so I thought I might as well give the V30i a try. WOW. The sound quality is excellent. Punchy bass, rich tones, and very little sound leak. I can wear these for hours and hardly know they're on me. Also, the mics on these earbuds are excellent, with clear, easy to hear and talk quality. The mics also deliver excellent spatial awareness for listening to the world around you, especially if you're out for a walk or in public. For the price, I'm blown away. Sure, you can probably get more premium sound out of a more expensive product, but if you're on a budget and you want something that strikes a great balance between quality and price, look no further. Your ears and your wallet will thank you. :-)
