Good Product
Since buying this I very rarely need to use my larger plunger router. It is well made and the depth adjustment is robust. Motor seems to be powerful enough for everything I've used it for.

Little gem router...
Needed a more portable, versatile router than my mains router and this fits the bill. Already owned a Makita cordless drill so the power packs were in hand. This is nicely built - good quality plastic housing and a sturdy alloy sleeve and base. As you'd expect, everything feels solid and well made. Powering up has a nice safety feature: press unlock to illuminate the bit area - really helps to see where the bit is going for freehand work - and then press power to start up. Accidentally pressing power without the first step does nothing - good and safe. Speed adjustment too is straightforward. This is still a fairly powerful machine so needs a good, firm grip to operate smoothly - I'm not convinced these type of machines are safe in the hands of not so dexterous DIYers, so operate with care. Battery life seems really good but that's a plus with Makita branded power packs - avoid the unbranded replacements that NEVER have the rated capacity cells installed... Very happy with a useful, adaptable tool for the workshop.

Worth the extra cost
I've previously bought one of the "fake" Makita routers which take the same batteries as this, and the difference is huge. Even though the other one will do the job, it's a constant fight compared to a real DRT50. This thing is so much smoother to use, and as well as producing better work, that also makes it a LOT safer. A lot quieter than the knock-off version too. Yes, it's more than double the price of some of the alternatives, but you get what you pay for. I get the impression it's going to last me a very long time, and so I think it's worth it.

It's a Makita.
So much better than having to drag an extension lead around. As with the RTC700 though, Makita missed a trick with this one by not having a micro-adjust on the depth of cut. If I wasn't on the LXT platform, I'd have probably bought the DeWalt that does.

Agonised
Agonised for ages about buying this little beauty. This is just fabulous. Didn't realise that there were so many different adaptions (I will buy all adaptions eventually) just used it a couple of times already and just love it. Don't hesitate. 5 stars +

Attention fraise 6.35mm

Zakupiłem Frezarke DRT50 i baza ciężko chodziła z korpusem od samego początku. Problem nasiał sie z każdym użyciem. Teraz już trzeba sie naprawde siłować by ustalić głebokość użytkwania frezarki.
