Bought this game as a family Christmas present. It was the card game we had the most fun with of all other games we played that night. This game is really fun, easy to learn and quick to play. It adds constant excitement and twists in the game. Definitely super recommend this card game for anyone that loves playing games with family.

Purchased for my 9 year old as a gift but the whole family LOVES this game, even my 6.5 year old who plays own his own (doesn’t need to play as a team with a grown up). It’s really fun to teach the kids a trick taking game because that convention is used in so many other games so they now are accustomed to that skill. I love that the game has multiple ways to score and types of cards you can include/exclude to vary the degree of difficulty. We play the entire 10-round game in about 45 minutes but all adult groups or those who are more speedy would probably do it in 30 minutes. It’s small and compact, easy to store, and take places too. Highly recommend. One of our two favorite games of 2025! You just can’t go wrong with any of the Grandpa Beck’s games.

One of my friends highly recommended Skull King, and with her level of enthusiasm, I had to give it a try. I'm always on the lookout for good games, and this one definitely adds something unique to game night. It’s a fun mix of strategy, risk, and timing. I especially like that there are options to increase the challenge once you get the basics down. The core gameplay keeps you thinking, and it rewards bold moves when you time them right. My only critique is that it comes with a lot of rules, which can feel overwhelming at first. Fortunately, the game includes handy cheat cards to help you remember everything, and once you’ve played a couple rounds, it starts to click. I haven’t dived too deeply into the advanced gameplay with all the bonus cards yet, but I’ve played that way with friends who are more into it, and it adds even more layers to the fun. If you’re into risk-taking games with a twist, Skull King is definitely worth a shot.
