Smooth application, excellent pigment.
As an artist, I have every brand of paint, but nothing beats Winsor Newton. As the years pass, some tubes get hard and only with a palette knife, will the paint be malleable. Other times, the oil separates from the pigment and makes a mess. But with WN, I never have that problem. Juicy, great pigment, never separates and very reasonably priced. There colors are consistent, coverage is great, and goes on smoothly. As I replace old, used tubes, I gravitate to this brand.

One of the best
Terra Rosa. One of the very best fully opaque single pigment oil paint colors on the market. The handling and covering power is perfect. This mixing friendly orange is a "go to" color. It is always part of my basic palette. If you like mixing beautiful blacks and pastel oranges; this is the one to have. It doesnt sink in, dries at a medium rate, is not a thug, and pops at full strength. I pray this color is never discontinued.

Good workhorse for a serious painter
Winsor and Newton oil paints are the primary workhorse on my palette. I have used this brand for years. The paints are consistent in strength and texture. I know that if I blended 2 colors last year that I will get the same result this year from new tubes. Paintings that i did in in the early 90's are still true in color today. As to quality, I would rate this brand right up there with more expensive brands.

Oil paint
I have never used this brand before. It is a little different from what I am used to. The color was not the same but close. I used the paint to cover up places that the wood stain did not take. Worked like a charm. I mixed it with other colors to match the wood. Paint dried in about 7 hours which is what I expected. It washed out of brushes with turpentine and soapy water without a hitch. No complaints.

W&N oil paints are always good
I am a professional artist and use a variety of oil paint brands. I have tried all the major brands and have my favorites. W&N is a consistent brand with beautiful colors. For Permanent Rose, I always choose W&N as the color is just right! I highly recommend. Also, one of my pet peeves in oil paint is the consistency and/or thickness of the paint. This brand does not separate or come out of the tube as too thin. This is quality paint at a good price. I recommend.

Every manufacturer has a star. This one is Winsors.
I don't like Winsor and Newton. I don't like the inconsistent textures and their cadmium colors are garbage with garbage in them! However, they have their winners. I get tickled at Brits because when they learn Spanish, for example, they try and brand it, like they invented it. Same with their paints, which are made in France, by the way. Gamblin is a better brand across the board. However, there is always going to be the fact that "some pigments" just don't radiate with the painter so, you end up brand agnostic. With Winsor, you get an artist grade amount of pigment AND, to be honest and fair, I have Winsor tubes which stayed cooled and out of light for 8 years and they are as fresh as the day I bought them. However, the tube caps disintegrate over time. This pigment temperature is perfect. It's a little dull for my liking but, it mixes very well. It is "correct" magenta, where Gamblin is too red and Rembrandt needs to go back to school and study MAGENTA! The texture of this tube is perfect because it's a synthetic organic dye. My only complaint is the slight dullness but the color, the actual color MAGENTA, this is. Mixes amazingly with dioxazine, thalos and Benzo and other organics. Makes some really "OMG" mixes! The price could be higher and is with everyone else.
