Works perfectly with Unraid. A good use of my PCIe x16 slot
I bought this to add drives to my Unraid server after I ran out of SATA ports on my motherboard. I currently have it running 4 drives and everything works perfectly. No additional configuration was needed, and the connected drives were automatically detected and have worked perfectly so far. The cables are 18" long (which wasn't noted in the listing), but I was happy to have the extra length. I wish I'd known previously that you can plug a PCIe x8 card into a PCIe x16 slot (It just doesn't use the extra pins). Seems logical now, but I'd avoided buying this in the past thinking it wouldn't fit. Lesson learned!

Worked out of the box for my Supermicro 846 using Unraid.
Worked out of the box for my Supermicro 846 with the sas2 backplane. Super simple drop in. All of my drives were recognized by Unraid. I didn't use the supplied SFF-8087 to SATA cables, but used my existing SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cable. Awesome when things just work.

I used this card to attach 8 drives to my TrueNAS Scale server. No issues at all until now.

Works great in my TrueNAS box.
I had some older, lower power PC components that I wanted to turn into a NAS with. The motherboard being what it was gave me huge problems with any SATA cards I tried in it. IE, they didn't work. This card solved that problem in short order and now I have a low powered NAS solution running happily in my bedroom. Recommended.
