Recipe Change!!! :(
I’m really disappointed. I had these on subscription and loved them—they were the closest thing to the old-school Penrose sausages I’ve found. Then out of nowhere, the recipe changed and the new version was sent without any warning. Instead of the smaller, randomly packed sausages, there were about six oversized ones with a completely different (and unpleasant) taste and texture. I couldn’t eat them, and the rest went straight into the trash. I hate leaving a negative review for a family business I’ve supported for years, but this new recipe is just terrible. PLEASE go back to the prior recipe!!!

The HOT has more flavor than the MILD but both are delicious!

Not like Penrose - expensive for the product.
They are not the worst I have tried but they are not like penrose and expensive for the amount you receive. I may buy again out of desperation but really not my choice if I could have Penrose or Southern Snack Red Hots.

Close to Penrose
I grew up in South Carolina LOVING Penrose hot sausages. Since Penrose is no longer around, I have been looking to find a reasonable replacement. This will be the third time I have tried a brand of hot sausages and I have to say that Bay View has come the closest. I bought the smoked-pickled Red Hot Polish Sausage and it has not disappointed. It isn’t exactly like my childhood favorite Penrose, but it is close enough for me. I can recommend this product.
