Great solution for a little heat
I love that this came with lengthy 12 gauge wire. That gauge is expensive. I added a 30 amp inline fuse at the car battery. This blows pretty weak, but it takes the edge off in an old corolla that has a bad heater core. Even with 12 gauge wires, the wires get warm. You will want to connect directly to the battery.

Not recommended: only blows the heat six inches.
I did NOT buy this heater thinking that it would warm the interior of my SUV…..I knew it was incapable of that. What I DID think it would be capable of doing is blowing some heat a couple of feet, so that I could place it on the middle console and feel SOME heat blowing on me. WRONG! The fan on this can only blow the heat about 6”, even when the fan is on high. So, the only part of you which is going to feel heat is your right hand, when you hold it 3” in front of the unit. I contacted the manufacturer, who was very friendly and helpful, and who offered to replace it. However, after talking about it with the representative, I concluded that it’s probably not defective, but rather, woefully inadequate. My advice is to seek a different option, because unless your goal is to simply warm your right hand, this product isn’t going to help you.

Roadpro heater
Easy to hook up. Barely any heat that came out of it. Do not recommend.

VERY weak airflow, barely heats a space at all
Bought this to warm a garden tractor cab, essentially to keep the windshield defrosted. The airflow is so weak that even the what comes out is warm, it makes no effect in the cab. I read another review where the guy mounted a large computer fan on the back to push air through better. I have made this mod, and am waiting to see if it noticeably improves the performance.

Needs to have an in-line fuse!
I bought this for my little '99 Dodge Dakota with the extended cab because my factory heater does not blow out a lot of heat. I've already attempted to flush out the heater core, but that had limited results. It's starting to look like I might have to replace the heater core, which is buried deep inside the dash. This is not a job I really feel like doing right now. But, winter in Oregon is approaching, and I know I'm going to want some form of supplemental heat in my truck. As it stands this little heater seems like a pretty good solution to either A) hold one over until the factory heater can be properly repaired or B) serve as a replacement for the factory heater in an older vehicle when a proper repair could be more expensive than it is worth. Do not expect this little heater to put out near as much heat as a properly functioning factory heater. And do not expect it to do much for you in a larger vehicle. From what I've researched, this little unit is best for smaller spaces. Good: -The heater does get nice and hot, and seems to do alright with heating up my extended cab '99 Dodge Dakota. Granted, it's not quite cold outside yet, so I'll have to wait to see how well it does during an Oregon winter. - Mounting was relatively painless as it came with necessary hardware. - It seems to match up pretty well with the rest of my interior. Bad: -The power wire does NOT include an in-line fuse, or even a fuse holder. I would not recommend, for the sake of safety, ever running a wire from your battery without a fuse. Failure to use a properly rated fuse could result in serious harm to yourself and/or your vehicle should there ever be a short in the wire. This means that I had to cut up the power wire in order to add a fuse holder to it. -There is a red light that is continuously on, even when the vehicle is turned off, because it uses a direct connection to the battery. This means there is a continuous power draw, even if the heater and/or fan is off. An easy way to avoid this, and to protect against accidentally leaving the heater running unattended, is to purchase an automotive relay and add it in-line with the power wire. Then wire the relay trigger to a switched power source, that way the heater will only ever draw power when the ignition system (or accessories) is turned on. -The power wire does get a little bit warm to the touch. Another reason to add, at the very least, a fuse to the power wire. It does seem like a perfectly functional little heater. But, in order to install it in a safe manner, I can't recommend this for anyone who doesn't know what they're doing, unless they have a competent mechanic who will install it with a relay and fuse. DO NOT INSTALL WITHOUT AN IN-LINE FUSE! BARE MINIMUM!

Quality product.
Quality product. Not like others have tried. Put out more heat than others but still will not replace tire heater in the winter time. I have been using this over a year now

Blows very little heat - I got a refund.
300watts is not even close. and I put it on a battery that was being charged with a 20amp charger and still didn't blow much heat. Fan only is stronger, but no heat Waste of money

Not much heat
Maybe the wrong application for this heater, but it doesn't give off much heat. It is in my kubota tractor with a soft cab, so there are gaps where cold air comes in and the heat escapes. Needs to be installed in a fully enclosed hard cab of a vehicle to be any good.

Good product for a 12 volt! Not sure why the negative reviews ...
Despite some negative comments we bought this; we think its a great buy. Worked well, no issues. It is a 12 volt, you can't expect a full heater. Great design and felt well made.
