Does worth to buy even for a beginner student
A Great musical insturment, my child loves it!!! It's perfect for school band level even out of it. My child tried a different one which was lower price but really frustrated about making out the sound. I was kinda of torn if I really need to upgrade it to this level for my child. Finally it was approved it did worth to buy. It really encuraged a very bigginner student who started the band and played smooth fluent sound after a few months working in the band. This purchase made us happily so much!!

HORRIBLE PIECE of GARBAGE - not even good for a beginner
This is the most AWFUL thing I've ever bought on Amazon. I've played oboe for almost 30 years, so I can make junk oboes sound decent-ish sometimes. However, I wouldn't even recommend this for a starter. In fact, the worst oboe I ever started on when I was a 6th grader which had to be fixed a lot would be considered a top notch instrument in comparison. Do NOT waste your money NOR your time. You definitely get what you pay for this piece of garbage that's just absolutely horrible!

son of a btich, it actually works!
If you're a pro & know what you're doing, it's a steal. Missing ring d, needed some set screw adjustments, & reed seat is a tad too big. But I mean really- there's nothing wrong with the one i received. Listen for yourself

Looks like an oboe
It it worse then I thought. As a technician, I cannot stay ahead of the problems with this thing. Some screw holes came stripped. That is not an easy fix. I believe this is why people are saying it plays for a while and suddenly stops. Another issue was a tension spring came loose. I fixed that but it will happen again unless I take it apart and make an alteration. Get a used selmer student model for less, elsewhere.
