StripHair Gentle Groomer - Original for Horses Dogs 6-in-1 Shedding Grooming Massage Tool (Black)

Wonderful grooming brush! I bought it for my horse, but tried it out first on my short haired pittie dog. It works like a dream! My dog didn't mind being me using this brush (he usually dislikes being groomed, but seemed to actually enjoy it this time) and it got out a ridiculous amount of hair. For my horse, he's at the end of his shedding cycle so its hard to say how the de-shedding quality is for a horse specifically, but it does a damn good job pulling out dirt. My horse is so shiny he looks showtime ready. I'm considering buying a second brush so I can have one at the barn and one at home. Worth the price.

I rarely ever write reviews, but this brush is so wonderful that I had to stop what I was doing to let everyone know how great it is. I bought the brush to use on my 3 large dogs and 1 small dog - all indoor babies who she'd like it's their full-time job. I was hesitant about buying it because of the price. I'm SOOOO glad that I went ahead and spent the money instead of cheaping out on another inferior grooming tool that would end up being added to the pile of unused brushes! The dogs just came back inside from running around in the pasture and rolling around in dirt, so it was the perfect opportunity to put the brush to the test. The first dog I tried it out on is an older Boxer/Pitbull mix. The dried grass and dirt came off of him effortlessly. He loved being brushed with it so much that he fell asleep and started snoring while I was brushing him! The next big baby got jealous and wanted in on the action. She's a 2.5 year old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix who sheds hairball tumbleweeds year-round. This brush worked amazingly to grab all of the loose hair that had accumulated since I brushed her a few days ago with a terrible brush that sounded like it was just breaking her hair with every stroke. Within minutes, I had two big handfuls of hair removed, and her coat looked nice & smooth. She also loved every second of her impromptu "spa treatment". Fur baby number 3 is a large, old mystery mix. She has bad spots on her hips from her former life as an abandoned oilfield location stray and sleeping on rocks for months. She's very fearful of anyone messing around near those patchy areas, but she didn't flinch at all when I gently brushed over them with our new brush. I haven't had a chance to try it out on my 17.5 year old Dachshund mix yet, but I already know he's going to love the rubs. Finally, I decided to give the brush a try on a small section of an area rug. WOW!!! So much hair came up that the vacuum couldn't get!!! I have arthritis in my hands that makes it painful to grip a brush handle for very long. However, this brush didn't cause me any additional pain because the size of it made it easy to hold regardless of what position it was in. I seriously can't say enough good things about my new StripHair Gentle Groomer! The only complaint I have is that I don't have enough hands to brush all of my dogs at once because they were attacking me with "kisses" trying to get another turn with the brush. LOL

I've been using the StripHair Gentle Groomer for years! It is my MAIN grooming tool, and I use it in place of brushes and curries. I've recently been learning equine massage principles to use on my own horses, and I have realized that there are many things I do for basic grooming that are already considered massage. The therapeutic benefits of the StripHair have always been something I've known about, but learning more about that side of it has been very cool. I'm so glad my horses have been benefiting from the StripHair all these years even without me totally understanding what I was doing! Other features I love are how it fits in my pocket, cleans up instantly, and is comfortable for use on all parts of the body, including the bony parts of the leg. It works incredibly well for shedding season, and removes loose hair and dirt all year! I also notice my horses are immediately shinier after using just the StripHair for a quick groom - I start with using the edge, then finish with a swipe of the diamonds. I also use it as my squeegee for bath time, after using it to scrub off any dirty spots. There's nothing else that has as many benefits, and even if you only used this tool for massage it would be well worth the cost. I am keeping one in my trailer, truck and barn. They work very well for cleaning pet hair off carpet, upholstery, and saddle pads too (especially for cleaning up the car). They last forever, as far as I can tell, and only after many years of lots of use have I noticed a very slight dulling of the edge - but it still works just fine! The ONLY downside of this tool is that it is fairly easy to misplace, so it helps to have a couple around so you still have one to use while you try to remember that safe spot you stashed it last ;)

I ordered a cheaper version, because it was shorter and it was for my dog and it came faster. I also ordered this one. The cheaper one looks just the same, not much smaller but wider; I needed something right away and I was going to use it figured I couldn’t go wrong with two. My dog has the worst dog hair ever. There has not been one tool that works on her. The cheaper version did not work at all. I got this one a couple weeks later and it is amazing. I finally found something that works. I’m sure the cheaper one would work on some dogs, and other animals hair. For Roxie, the StripHair is amazing!!! I think it feels better on my dog too. Softer rubber. Kind of wish I didn’t order the other one, but I used it and there you are. Maybe I could pass it off to someone else’s dog who might need it. I highly recommend this product. Especially if you have the most difficult hair like my dog. Her hair is straight pretty short and course. Maybe like a horse.

This is a good product when horses first begin to shed. The video is well done and must have used a horse that had not had any shed hair brushed off. It does nit seem very practical to use after shedding although it is great in hard to brush places like the chin and around the eyes and ears and legs. Not sure what the deal was about being infused with grapefruit oil because it is just a flexible rubber comb.

I was skeptical at first but I needed something different. Metal/typical shedding tools are a little too harsh for my sensitive thoroughbred. I am in love with this “brush”. Idk how it does it but the hair comes right off. It’s extremely gentle but it also gets the dirt right off with gentle pressure. I am so happy I took a chance on this product! My horse and I love it!

It's OK. A bit awkward to handle

Used it on my TB the day after it arrived. It was wonderful for descending and my horse loved it. He stood so well I was even able to get normally sensitize areas (under belly) and difficult places ( legs, face). I have not tried it in the bath yet because the weather is currently too cold, but you better believe that’s in the plans

Brosse assez légère et pratique. Flexible donc on peut nettoyer à peu près toutes les parties du corps du cheval. Les poils partent facilement de la brosse. Un peu difficile à nettoyer après usage. Le silicone noir devient au fil du temps blanc. Mais cela n'empêche pas l'utilisation ! Je recommande.

Lavoro con un cavallo Murgese che al cambio di stagione, soprattutto da inverno a primavera, perde una quantità di pelo esorbitante. questa triglia, oltre a rimuovere la polvere e le incrostazioni a fondo, sposta anche tutto il pelo morto, lasciando il mantello sotto lucido e soffice. a differenza delle striglie in metallo posso usarla anche sul garrese e sui garretti dove le altre darebbero fastidio, e sulla faccia. il cavallo la tollera molto bene nonostante sia molto sensibile in alcuni punti. la uso anche durante la doccia e tira via molto più pelo e sporcizia delle altre striglie di gomma.

Does not work well at all very disappointing not worth the price

Striphair is amazing, it does everything, great tool during shedding, gets mud off, good for scraping water too and my horse loves the flatest surface as it's like a massage!!
