These curtains work well for me as noise-blockers. (Since I purchased these curtains mostly for that purpose rather than to block out light, that is what I will talk about here.) They seem to block light well, but again, that wasn't my focus. I live on a noisy street, across from an elementary school playground, and near an above-ground subway line. I am planning to do some recording work in my bedroom, so I needed to make the space as quiet as possible. Honestly, I didn't have great expectations that these would be effective, and was worried about the heaviness of the fabric and how that would look. (I ordered the dark grey color.) But I am very pleasantly surprised and pleased at both how they look and how they work. The dark grey color is nice, and doesn't bother me. As for noise--the curtains do not block it out totally, but they make it sound very remote, like it's happening further away. Now, I am rarely aware of, or bothered by, the noises. (Obnoxious car horns and jackhammer work in the street is still going to be an issue, but still, these are certainly dampened from the previous noise level.) In general, I am very pleased with this purchase.

I live near a highway and a sometimes busy road is at the end of my backyard. The road noise was so annoying! I thought I would have to move, seriously. After much research, I decided to try these. These drapes softened and muffled the noise. Noises also seem further away, not like standing on the edge of the highway as before. There are in a bedroom and there is a definite quietness compared to other bedrooms. It just feels quieter. They are very thick, heavy and almost suede like in feel. You will need a heavy rod. I think they look nice too. Definitely room darkening but light comes through the top at the grommets. A little steam iron took most of the wrinkles out. So glad I purchased these and would highly recommend!

They do blackout the room. The effectiveness is limited by an imperfect seal around the window due the method of hanging on a rod. Sound abatement is not that effective. Some high frequencies are muted, but low frequencies come through, and I have them doubled up - two sets hung back to back.

I first ordered the "3 layer sound blocking" curtains from this "NICETOWN" brand and they are an absolute lie. They were so acoustically transparent I actually cut them up and used them as speaker grille cloth so they weren't useless but definitely not as advertised, Needless to say I was a little worried about spending 5x as much on these but I made the purchase based on weight alone. That was a good decision. These actually attenuate sound, these actually have MASS (make sure your curtain rod ain't weak) and they look almost identical to the cheap ones that didn't do anything.

Thank you Nicetown. I think this will help dampen my noisy neighbors and mute the traffic. Just hung them up and can happily hear some silence. And well, love sun coming thru windows but will enjoy some silence . Many thanks.

Purchased these NICETOWN “soundproof” curtains hoping to reduce a persistent low‑frequency humming noise from a neighboring pool pump. While the curtains are well‑constructed and effective for blocking light and providing general room dampening, they did not meaningfully attenuate low‑frequency noise. It’s important for buyers to understand that products like these are better suited for mid‑ to high‑frequency sounds (voices, traffic, echoes). Low‑frequency mechanical hums require mass and structural isolation to achieve noticeable reduction, which fabric‑based curtains simply cannot provide. The curtains may be a good choice for improving room acoustics or reducing everyday ambient noise, but they are not effective for low‑frequency mechanical noise control. Returning for this reason. BOTTOMLINE: These are quality blackout curtains - nothing more.

It actually works. Closed out the hun from the factory near me. Very heavy though. I only used one panel on each window.

My neighbor recommended them. After seeing the great quality I decided that they were perfect for my bedroom and hopefully they will work to block out noisy cars and motorcycles. I have contacted company. The curtains are uneven. To be continued. I like them but they are defective
