Crosby Slotted Pure Bone Bridge Pins for 6 & 12 String Acoustic Guitar

These pins arrived quickly in a little tin than can be used afterwards for storing items such as plectrums. The pins themselves are bone and are quite thick. It took quite a lot of elbow grease to sand them down to the right size for my Epiphone Inspired by Hummer. However the effort is worth it as the sound is definately richer with the bone pins compared with the stock plastic ones. I don't know why they supply the guitar with the stock plastic pins but bridge and nut are alledgely bone. The bone pins are a definate upgrade and also are much easier to pull out to change strings.

Did not fit the Aria acoustic guitar so needed another set.

Great pins very solid I had to ream my bridge slightly but they are worth the effort real quality

Purchased for a Martin guitar and they needed to be filed down as 3 pegs fitted and three were too wide. The other issue was they had no notches in at the top of the peg where the string needs to be. I had to notch them myself using a small cutting tool attached to a Dremel. They are made out of bone which is a plus and once fitted I am pleased with them. The Martin original peg is the one on the left the other 2 pictures show the tool and the new peg fitted after the notch was put in.

Awful to prep, took a long time to sand them down to fit, why so big! If it wasn’t for that it would get a five star review, once fitted they gave the guitar a clear crisp sound with great resonance. Totally changed the sound of my fender and i love it, ill never go back to plastic pegs or bridges ( changed these for bone also)

My review regards EBONY WITH ABALONE INLAYS pins and have no idea why Amazon swap to pure bone version of product.Quality wise it was smaller bang for bigger buck. I ordered ebony pins with abalone inlays yet from two other sellers at the same time, this one had smaller diameter of inlays ( ca. a half of - some 2mm vs. 4mm), and two pins had a small glue residue marks, nacre iridescence was nice and similar to other items (some products have significant differences between set pieces); wood work was the same quality however one other product was £3 and a second one £5 cheaper. Packaging was a branded metal box and no pin lever tool came along (which is good as the plastic ones that came with other orders did not even fit the pins) as opposite to plastic bags for other products.

These are great I used them as an upgrade on my Martin and they sound and look great!

I bought a brand new Gibson J45 (Custom shop) and their cheap plastic end pins are too small for the holes. The heads bury so far in that I needed pliers to get them out. C'mon Gibson! These pins are well made, look vintage and fit the Gibson J45 perfectly. As far as tonal improvements; it's hard to say. Maybe a small percentage improvement. Most of all is they fit snug and look great. Also, plenty of collar for a standard winder/puller to grab onto. Highly recommended.

Reading so many comments regarding not fitting the bridge without sanding .I was surprised to have only one that needed sanding out of the six supplied.Worthy upgrade and relatively easy to do.

I bought 2 sets of these, one plain and the other with the abalone dot to replace worn out ebony pins on 2 guitars and I can confirm the sets I received were both bone. It helps to know the pin size in your guitar and I was aware these pins would be a little to large. The pins are bleached and polished which give them a more plastic appearance. I had to sand a little bit to make them fit and anyone who ever sanded a bone nut or saddle before will know that bone when sanded gives off a very unique scent.

My Guild d-140 came with a bone nut and saddle, but with plastic bridge pins. I've "settled" for the sound for many years, but wanted to see how much difference there would be if I changed the pins to bone. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Much more volume and charity of individual strings! This is probably the cheapest component found on many guitars and, after the change to bone, I cannot understand why guitar manufacturers use plastic components for the nut, saddle and bridge pins in many guitars (even some high-end guitars); it's a cheap fix! Thank goodness Guild provided a bone nut and saddle in my D-140. I can't speak to the degree that bone bridge pins will improve your guitar's sound, but for around $10, there is nothing to lose by giving them a try. As an important side note, I've recently changed my strings to GHS Contact Core Acoustic Guitar Strings and they sound fantastic. You might want to visit the GHS Guitar String website and see if these strings will benefit the sound of your guitar. As far as I know, GHS is the only string manufacturer that makes Contact Core Strings. Give-em a try......you might just find them perfect for your acoustic guitar. If you are a new player looking for a fantastic guitar at a very reasonable price, you should consider a Guild D-140 and GHS Contact Core Strings. Also change the bridge pins to the bone pins I purchased. You may have to do a little sanding on the pins so they fit the holes in the bridge. It's an easy task, but go slow to be sure you don't sand them down to a point where the fit is too loose. It took me only 5 minutes to sand mine to the perfect fit. I did, however, find one bridge pin that was made a little too small to fit the bridge when all other pins in the box needed filing down for a nice firm fit.
