3 years and still germinates! Top quality lawn seed ๐
I've just finished my first 5kg bag of these seeds three years later! Have successfully reseeded 4 different lawns with this mix with great results. Buying another one so I've got some to overseed my back lawn soon and have enough for future reseeding after scarifying. So much better than the stuff you buy in DIY stores don't waste your money elsewhere, buy A1!

Excellent! Germinates quickly and grows strongly with quality fine-looking leaves.
Excellent. Used for over-seeding to rejuvenate a lawn that had gone mostly to moss, camomille and clover after a couple of years of not being able to sufficiently clear up leaves from a number of tall trees in the autumn and water-logging. It appears just about every single seed successfully germinated. Areas in full-sun germinated very quickly and within four days were about 3-4cm tall. In more heavily shaded areas, such as under a large beech tree, germination and growth took longer, as would be expected but is nevertheless growing well. Helped by recent weather; periods of heavy rain alternating with periods of strong sun - which also kept the wood pigeons from taking too much. Some patches were slower to germinate were I'd insufficiently cleared thatch, but appears to be catching up now.

Failure to germinate compounded by useless AI customer service bot.
I don't like to give bad feedback sometimes it requires it..... ZERO germination. ZERO help from AI agent Rowan (using AI for "customer service"? Can only be because its cheap as it totally fails at helping customers). ZERO response from a real human. After a few years of family use our existing lawn was in need of some TLC. I have spruced our lawn up in the past and it worked quite well so I used the same process this time..... Cut existing grass short. Apply moss killer and fertiliser. Wait two weeks and cut grass short again. Scarify to remove bumps and thatch. Sow seed using a spreader.. Top off with a top soil/sharp sand mix. Wait while keeping ground moist. After 3 weeks of great growing weather..... ZERO germination. Go to customer (dis)service and all I got was an AI bot that's more interested in the order details rather than resolving the issue or putting a human in touch with me. I still have had no meaningful response so I don't know if it's a bad batch or not so with that in mind let your eyes be the judge. The first picture is from today (2nd May '26), the others are from 6 days earlier. All of the improvement is from the established grass. NONE is the light wispy hairlike growth you get from new grass seed.

Not worth thr cost
Expensive seed took way longer to germinate than it states and also had lots of weeds through and also had still left patchy even with regularly watering and sun

Good value
Slower germination than expected but probably due to weather as just showing now after seeding a few weeks ago. Like this brand as a repeat order but first time with shady . Best value price.

Good Seeds, great results, clear instructions, good phone support.
I'm definitely happy with the results from my purchase with A1lawn seeds. To give context, I had a new patio, fencing and pathway installed. The previous grass was a mix of various types, alot of weeds also. The soil needed lowering and was bumpy, so I removed 8 tonnes of soil over 2 days into a skip. I cultivated the soil and added some lime. I then leveled the ground using a pallet and dragging it up and down, which proved really effective. I then needed seeds, as turf seemed extremely expensive and I'm aware different species of grass grow better in different environments. My soil is rather sandy, so I gave A1lawn a call and after a discussion of the environment and me having kids they advised this type. I was advised to use 1 bag, but in the end needed 2 bags, this was my fault due to spreading by hand. I think a seed spreader, would of done a much better job. Another factor may have been birds, so I bought some reflective tape and bamboo sticks and placed about 50, 30cm long tips on each side of the garden. This proved effective and birds tended to keep away after using the second bag. I also bought some pre-seeder, the whole process took about 8 weeks and atleast 3-4 full working days. What impressed me most about this company, was the technical support they provided over the phone and the instructions they sent out with the seeds/pre-seeder. Thanks ๐
