This is a good seed starting compound. It arrives as a compressed hard block. Just cut the top off the bag and pour in about a gallon and a half of water. It expands to about 3 times its original size. You can user it straight out of the bag or pour it into a container. It works great and retains the moisture needed for the plants. It has the needed nutrients for the plants. My plants are looking great its definitely worth the money.

I really love this soil blend. Unfortunately I opened my bag about a month after I got it and I had little gnats. I’m chalking it up to me letting the product sit and will still use it but treat it to get rid of the gnats.

This has been the best starting soil to use! My seedlings love it and have already popped up in less than a week. I used the left over soil to top my monstera and bird of paradise!

Product is great. It’s my go to for winter sowing. However, I’d never purchase from here again though. You can get double the size for half the price for the same product elsewhere. I wish I had done a price comparison before ordering…for some reason thought I was getting sweet deal 2 25 qt bags for $17 (1 25 qt bag is $11 at other distributors).

This is exactly as advertised. It’s dirt. Dirt particular to growing succulents. I’ve used it on my various cactus plants and they grow beautifully because the dirt was formulated to do that. Please don’t be surprised if you order this and get a bag of dirt, that’s what this is … dirt.

Let me just say this, I am not a big review person. After reading some of the other reviews though, I felt I needed to review this. I’ve had this Euphorbia Trigona (or that’s what it was labeled as) for over 2yrs. It has never grown, it has never put out new leaves, it survived my partners very forgetful plant care techniques. Over the last winter it was just another neglected plant on my already busy schedule of things to get to. It started losing all its leaves. The tops became slightly soft and sponge like to the touch. I had written it off and taken it out of my will. Until about 3 weeks ago when I finally got around to it again. I did a quick search for a potting mix and was determined to fix him. Ordered this mix out of a quick search (I detest miracle gro brand) and it was on its way. The next day I cleaned the pot out, loosened the roots of the two stalks and replanted him back into his pot. The mix was well above the usual quality I see in potting mixes. It had an earthy smell and very light weight. Better than any cactus mix I had seen before. It was easy to mix and settle around the roots. After packing it in, a very good soaking and full 8hrs or drain time… back into a brightly lit dining room area it went. It’s been nearly 2 weeks now and I can not stress how great he looks! New leaves, more growth and it no longer has a soft spot anywhere on it!

Got to get this again! All the stuff you need for strong roots and overall plant health. The smartest mix I have seen in a while! Wish the bag was bigger, but definitely NO PRODUCT COMPLAINTS! I used this to root about 25 clippings and the roots were thick, strong and healthy. I have potted 18 of those clippings and they are thriving. The roots stimulator michorizal is the reason!

It is very easy to use, and the soil looks very rich. However, like many other comments already mentioned, this soil does have fungus gnat problem. I baked the soil using my oven but there are still several survivors.
