Liberty Garden 709 Steel Wall/Floor Mounted Hose Reel, Holds 200-Feet of 5/8-Inch Hose - Tan, 17.6 x 22 x 15

I am not a fan of flimsy plastic hose reels, or those awful plastic boxes, so I was thrilled to find this well-made steel hose reel. I built a base for the hose reel from scrap lumber and it only takes a minute or two to reel in the hose after watering. The 75' stainless steel hose is great because it doesn't kink. Highly recommended!

I'm a big fan of this hose reel. It has a good heavy feel to it. I have used it about a half dozen times for my pressure washing business and I have to say, it's held up quite well. I had to install a short 6" whip line so as to not kink up the hose as the J-turn is just a little too sharp, but it easily holds 100ft of 3/4in hose, nice and secure. I has a nice finish to it, the handle is sturdy, and the "reeling action" is nice and smooth. Big fan!

Seems to be strong and of good quality, but the price I paid for it still bugs me. Will have to see how long it lasts, but I think these are far too expensive for most people so i took off one star for that.

Just purchased my second one after having the first for 5 years!! This hose reel is a tank. Some of the plastic parts have failed. But the swivel has never leaked and handle still works great. I have 200ft of 3/4 hose on, you have to have a tight and neat hose wrap to fit it all.

I’ve included a video of how to fix a slight design issue concerning reinforced sleeved hoses. Once you get past that minor hiccup it’s a fantastic hose reel. If the hose you are using does not have a sleeved reinforced end, you will not have an issue. It rolls up very smoothly and does a great job. It made short work of a heavy 80 foot hose. It’s also very well built. However, if you’re using a high-quality hose, you will not be able to get anywhere near 200 feet on there. I’ve included a picture of my hose completely rolled up. It’s 80 feet long and there might be room on that reel for another 20 feet. But if you’re using a very thin hose, or collapsible flat hose, I’m sure you could get 200 feet on there.

1) I purchased 5 of these because the reviews seemed positive. Sadly, every single one leaks after unwinding and rewinding the hose back up a few times. This is because the unit's brass fittings wiggle loose no matter how many times I remove the hoses and take everything apart to tighten. This process is a pain and time consuming. Try doing it over and over with 6 of these and you may understand my frustration. 2) A quality hose line with a decent female fitting will not attach to the frame's male fitting because of the tight bend leading to the male threaded part on the unit. There is a notch cut out on the core cylinder to allow for the hose fitting, but it's not big enough to do the job it is supposed to do. So, your only option to attach a lead line other than the cheap, short, small diameter one that comes with it, is to buy another cheap, but longer and wider diameter lead line that probably won't hold up and may leak at the connection. 3)Because the unit does not swivel, you can only unwind and wind in a straight line. 4) The unit falls over when unwinding or rewinging unless you bolt or screw down to a heavy, heavy, heavy base, or drive u shaped spikes into the ground over the legs to help keep it from flipping over and in one place which means you can't move it somewhere else by even a few inches. After spending close to $600 to tidy up the good quality hoses in my yard, I am more than disappointed in this winder. I expected a great deal more at this price point. A quality hose winder would be a blessing, but this one has serious design flaws that can only be overcome by redesigning the unit with the above problems in mind. So now I am stuck with these winders around my yard and miles of unwound hoses because I just gave up. When time permits, I will have to search for a better solution.

A friend gave me a plastic one, probably 10 years ago. It was ugly as sin. It has sat in the same position until now. I always wanted something nicer, but the nice ones were well over $100 and the plastic one worked. When it finally went from leaking to spraying water all over I priced some very nice ones. Nope, I’m too cheap. I had admired this brand, but I had never seen that they made a very simple one that was all steel and reasonably priced. I am very happy to get something made in China, with quality in the fittings where it counts most, built to last, and a lot more attractive than any of the plastic ones. Photos: if you can see from the picture the hose outlet fitting and the ends on the supply hose are heavy walled with clean cut threads swaged with brass ferrules. The reel swivel is a solid block held on with a snap ring. If it ever starts to leak ( it doesn’t BTW ) you can replace the O-rings from an auto parts store. And it is right out where you can get to it. I was very happy with this purchase, especially compared to a lot of junk I have bought here. So I went ahead and installed it with the two bent rebars driven in the ground that held the old one. I will pour a bit of concrete or mount it to some green lumber someday because the base will eventually rust out if I don’t. Now, compare the appearance to the old one. Nice! That is 50 ft of Goodyear 5/8” industrial hose. It looks like it will handle 100 ft more.

This hose reel is built like a tank! The crank is smooth and rolls up my hose quickly. The hose connections are great quality. It has pre drilled holes for mounting on a wall and holes that I used to drive rebar in the ground to hold it down in one place by my outside water faucet. Highly recommend.

Love the stainless steel. Doesn’t leak and rolls hose up nice. I have a 100’ of 5/8” HD hose and lots of room left. You would need to have quite small hose to get 250’ feet on as advertised. Would buy again, not cheap but good value that should last a long time and not break down like the plastic ones.

We had a plastic model of hose reel which for the most part is everything one would need in a hose reel. However it has a weak point in the design of the water entry into the reel, the reel must be able to spin while the feed hose connection remains stationary. After time the water pressure blew out the poorly designed plastic fitting. I made a retainer to strengthen it but then it developed a leak within the reel to garden hose tube. This unit has not only steel stand and reel, but a solid brass swivel assembly for feed hose to reel that should never fail, other than the O ring seals needing replacement; unit is well worth the cost!

Welche Größe hat das Innengewinde des Anschlussschlauches? Dazu finde ich keine Angaben, weder in der Produktbeschreibung noch in der Aufbauanleitung. Ich möchte den Anschlussschlauch gern mit einem Schnellverschluss (z.B. Gardena) ausrüsten, um die Schlauchtrommel schnell und einfach an unseren Wasserhahn anschließen zu können.

The item appears to be a good quality with good metalwork and paint. The connecting hose is a male to female item approx 2 meters long. The hose will screw into either end of reel, both input and output sides. The problem is that the hose fittings fit nothing else. They are a thread of their own and don’t fit taps or any hose or attachment . Also leaks more water than it carry’s, this is heading for a speedy return.
