Dead – Completely Useless
This Toshiba S300 1TB drive has been nothing but a disappointment from the moment I received it. It hasn’t worked. Installed it in my DVR system, and it wasn’t recognized at all. Tried it with a PC—still dead. No spin-up, no detection, no life. Just a completely useless brick. For a product marketed as “reliable surveillance-grade storage,” this is unacceptable. I expected Toshiba to uphold a basic standard of quality control, but clearly, that wasn’t the case here. I’ve wasted time, effort, and money trying to troubleshoot something that was Dead. Very frustrating when you buy something to secure your property—and the hardware itself fails. Do yourself a favor and skip this model. There are far better options out there that actually work

Unreliable heap of junk
Bought the exact model in 2023 for 4500 Rs including taxes with a promise of 3 years of warranty for my Hikvision DVR. But it failed exactly after 3 years one month and a day later. Pathetic quality, if it's warranty period is the life of this product then they should seriously consider providing 5 or 6 years. Stay away from this Toshiba and try some other brands.
