These research studies are quite promising though for L-Ergothioneine's potential anti-aging health benefits in people. I'm primarily interested in L-Ergothioneine for its possible neuroprotective effects as well as eye health. Don't expect any noticeable health benefits anytime soon. This is one of those supplements you take as a long term proactive health choice. I've read that many experience a boost in energy levels as well as cognitive function in anywhere from a few days to a few months when taking Ergothioneine and mushroom supplements. After taking L-Ergothioneine 5mg/day for the last 6 months, I have not experienced the hoped for energy boost. Ergothioneine blood levels decline with age. After taking ProHealth Ergothioneine 5X at the 25mg/day dose for the last 4 weeks, I believe it's making a difference. My mind is a little sharper and I have more energy which is particularly helpful when coming up with creative solutions and DIY projects. In an article by The British Journal of Nutrition titled "Mushroom intake and cognitive performance among US older adults", researchers found that "higher mushroom consumption may reduce the risk of cognitive decline in older adults. Prohealth inc is a newer supplement company...even though my research shows starting about 34 years ago, the BBB accreditation started in 2019 and the trademark with the company hasn't shown any updates since 2002. They do have a physical location in Carpinteria CA, but appears to be a warehouse. Having said all this, the critical data I found is that prohealth provides the certificate of analysis of the supplement they sell and it includes most if not all the supplements they sell on their website. They also pointed out a test where they had a 3rd party test lab test supplement sold online and verify the supplement's authenticity. Prohealth Inc was one of the few companies that actually provide the product they sell. Prohealth is one of the few companies I trust even through they are more of a private label company, they are using quality GMP facilities to make their product and ensuring the quality is enforced. This supplement is double sealed and has a desiccant and has an expiration date of 11/2025. Seeing that the company has been in business for many years and relaunching with an emphasis on longevity supplements, I am happy to continue using this supplement. So far I haven't had any negative side effects and will update this review in the future. Seeing the quality packaging and the certificate of analysis, I am happy to give it 5 stars

This product is a 30 day supply of a supplement that is supposed to support improved cognition, heart health, and essential longevity. I cannot say I have noticed any improvement in my cognitive thinking or my heart health (I do suffer from angina and heart palpitations,) in the past month of taking this supplement. I can only speak to my longevity, which I would consider to be essential, in terms of my general desire to live, and all I can say is that I am still alive since starting on this supplement. I cannot say with any certainty that this supplement is the cause for my continuing existence, though. I am sorry to report that with no noticeable changes in my health that I can attribute to mushroom amino acids that this supplement is made from, I cannot recommend purchasing this item. If you want more reliable info on your heart or brain health, or ways to extend your life by practicing healthy habits, speak with a board certified physician.

🍄 There are so many health benefits to mushrooms it’s kinda unbelievable. And I’m sure as research progresses there will be advancements in the understanding of its bioactive chemical constituents. Reviewing a vitamin or natural herb is so difficult. There are many factors at play, and many of times you don’t directly see the benefit. 🍄 Why you may ask…b/c often times these things are what’s called an antioxidant which are free-radical scavengers. They work undercover …and in the dark, and at a cellular level. Often times, these natural derivatives may take up to 3 months to really hone-in on their ultimate potential. -Why, b/c they need to build up in the system. Furthermore, it also depends on how your body is able to absorb nutrients. 🍄 What I can say as I’ve known about antioxidants for years. I’ve been taking them since I was at least 25yo or so…And I will also say I’ve been assumed at least 10yrs younger than my original age. So, as the research progresses, so shall I in the discovery for the fountain of youth ;)

This is a supplement I've never used before but given the benefits it was researched for--improved cardiovascular health, for example--just had to try it. Small, easy to swallow capsules, with no bad taste. No reflux or anything when using the product. It is lab-tested and from an established manufacturer, so I feel confident in using this. Like it is actually the dose used in clinical studies, so feeling confident this will produce benefits.

I can't say I noticed any difference when taking this product, but I think the potential benefits are something you need to look at more long term to know if it's working for you or not. I didn't have any negative experiences when taking this product, but I can't say for sure that I experienced any positive benefits either. This seems to be a quality brand, so if you feel this is a supplement that could offer what you're seeking for potential long term benefits it's worth trying to see if it works well for you.
