Work well and plenty loud on the high setting so can be heard if installation is in basement or garage. Can be plugged into any outlet on a circuit and the pass through plug means you don’t loose an outlet. However, not as useful for a dedicated outlet behind a recessed appliance since would need to move the appliance to reset. Could be plugged into an extension cord but is a little bulky and hard to hide. The smaller ones with a short cord are better for that application. I have some of both types. Excellent product but consider your application before deciding what to buy.

The alarms works as advertised. Text book case, we had a power outage at 4am while we were asleep. The alarms were activated, they were loud, and woke us up. We were able to take the necessary actions to prevent any damage. Definitely deserve five stars.

I purchased the Briidea Power Failure Outage Alarm to protect a refrigerator/freezer in my garage. The alarm does block the second socket if plugged into the upper socket of a wall outlet. However, I purchased the TROND Outlet Extender Surge Protector - Multi Plug Wall Outlet solve this problem. Plug the TROND outlet extender into the upper socket of the wall outlet, and the Briidea Power Failure Outage Alarm into the right-most socket on the flat front of the TROND unit . The lower socket of the wall outlet will now be available for use. I plugged the remaining three sockets on the TROND unit with child safety caps to keep out spiders. I have had a complete power failure since this installation and the alarm works perfectly. With the alarm set to the high setting I could hear the alarm well within the interior of the house. I am assured that I will certainly be alerted if the circuit breaker fails for that outlet. I will definitely be purchasing more of these alarms for the dehumidifiers & sump pumps in my basement.

I have this on my garage fridge so if the GFCI breaker trips, I'll know. So far, it has saved my twice. THis is a great product for a great price. It is super loud so you will be able to hear it no matter where it is.

We lost power at 130 am and would have never known the time had it not woken us up. It worked as intended. I just wish you could shut it off remotely, as it's really really loud. Keep noise blocking ear muffs on standby.

I don’t have an auto backup generator, so I put this in my bedroom at night during storms so I know to take action sooner rather than later. I have a pellet stove with an electrically powered blower and auger. So if the power goes out, I can get a backup on it before it goes out in cold weather while I get outside to setup my generator. It’s helped me a couple times and well worth the cost. Just plug it in and it’s set up. It was loud enough to wake me from a deep sleep and is quick to silence.

This is a saver when our electric goes out. We like it so much and they work very well. Our freezer is in the garage but the alarm is loud enough to hear and we have had to check a few times when the power went out.

Works as advertised. No missing it when it goes off!

We use it for a freezer located in the basement. One day I noticed there was no power to the freezer. The electrical breaker had tripped. Fortunately, I discovered it before the products thawed. We decided to order this to let us know if the breaker trips again. Excellent product.

For the price.......and stop losing a freezer full of items especially meat...and having to throw away the appliance...everyone should have one (the appliances should have them built in!!)

This product will do exactly what I need it to. I tested it right away and the alarm can be quite loud. The only downside to this product is that it covers both plugs on a receptacle no matter what. You will only be able to use this device, with something plugged into it, and nothing else.

I love it when a product just works, and costs a fraction of what other similar products do. A safe buy.
