This lifter worked much better than I expected. I needed to put risers under a huge solid wood credenza with an 82” TV sitting on top of it. I estimate the whole setup weighs at least 300 kg (660 lb) and is far too heavy for one person to lift one end unaided. Since I needed to lift only one end of the cabinet at a time, the load was closer to 200 kg (440 lb) or less, and so under the rated capacity of this device. Getting the starting height of the lift was a bit tricky, and the supplied bases were too thick. I managed to assemble a couple of hardwood planks that provided just the right base height to allow maximum lift, which was enough to slip the furniture risers I needed to install. The lifting device was quit stable during use. I think the wheels contribute to this stability. They allow a little horizontal movement so that the lifter doesn’t tend to pull the cabinet towards it or to push it away. All of the effort goes into actual vertical movement. And it required surprisingly little effort. The information provided suggests a 6,5:1 mechanical advantage for the lever. Measuring the device indicates that’s about right, but it definitely feels like more. I needed it for just one particular task, but it is something that I will keep in my toolbox because it will make moving furniture, even much lighter pieces, so effortless. It’s absolutely worth the rather reasonable cost.

I purchased this to help whilst moving house but have been surprised how often I have found uses for it since. I am now able to move items that I could no longer lift due to my age. It lifts heavy items on one side, but enough to break the drag and friction on floors and carpets. For example I can move heavy white goods and large cupboards which I could not previously lift off the ground.
