Q: Any tips for using it on brass? I have tried and it looks great at first but when it dries, it looks like the brass is rusting underneath

I haven't used it on brass, I bought it to finish a stain glass repair but after playing with it (rubbing it in every surface I found in my garage) I found out that gives an aged patina to zinc plated finishes, like those common shiny bolts you get at the hardware store. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question.

Q: Will this stain my bathtub after rinsing the stained glass?

Should not the overall bathtub, but any metal parts it will. I would suggest rinsing out side.
